Position Overview The Senior Service Area Manager / Route Sales Manager is an essential part of the Service Department and is responsible for supporting the service organization through timely, accurate, detailed quoting and proposal generation, and for being technically knowledgeable about equipment, process and parts. This role grows and nurtures the Service Area Manager and Route Sales groups, ensuring an efficient and proactive approach. It also ensures proper install‑base data collection and analysis to develop a market plan for the Service organization. The incumbent reports to the Director of After Sales and projects the After Sales team in North America.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Lead, coach, develop and grow the Service Area Manager Team (US and Canada).
Lead, coach, develop and grow the Route Sales structure and processes.
Work with the Commercial Service Business Manager to identify, develop and build structure around service products and market approach.
Support the Regional Commercial teams (US and Canada) and the Capital Sales organization.
Manage Service Revenue / Order Intake to contribute to the overall Service department goals.
Achieve set monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals and targets that influence KPI’s.
Maintain CRM/ERP data for install base integrity, account and contact information, case/opportunity, visit reporting, and sales order entry.
Create proactive plans to approach the market, increasing rebuild, upgrade, and promotional service revenue.
Develop and maintain route schedules, coordinating with Route Sales Drivers for unplanned customer requests.
Identify and act upon upselling opportunities.
Report competitive and market data as it becomes available.
Ensure transparency of route schedules among Customer Service Advisors, Capital Equipment Sales, Technical Service, and Route Sales Drivers.
Analyze visit report data to identify opportunities for improvement in coordination.
Work with CRM to generate leads for the Customer Service team.
Collect and analyze route data to improve and grow value to customers.
Oversee all weekly, quarterly, and annual correspondence with state and federal agencies to ensure timely payments and renewals (IFTA, IRP, MODOT, FMCSA, etc.).
Assist drivers with ELD‑related issues.
Compile required paperwork for each unit and ensure timely inspection.
Coordinate with Finance for insurance renewal cards and with HR for drug testing compliance.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Aftersales Director.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Knowledge or experience in the field of rendering is necessary.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Proficient with Microsoft Office; Sage experience is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, accuracy, analytical mindset, critical thinking, technical aptitude, and teamwork.
Adaptability to ever‑changing conditions.
Some travel required.
