What are we looking for? We are looking for two positive, trustworthy, and motivated self‑starters to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward‑thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our morning (7AM - 1PM) and afternoon (12PM-6PM) Camp Directors are the engines of our Code Ninjas center. These individuals oversee the day‑to‑day success of our Summer Camp Sessions. Are you experienced in working with children and parents? Are you a passionate, ambitious, dependable, business‑minded leader? Do you enjoy taking responsibility for a project and seeing it through to success? This could be the role for you. Internships/Intern Projects can be accommodated for Small Business Operations, Digital Marketing, and IT.
Responsibilities
Oversee morning or afternoon operations of the camps and center on Mondays through Fridays
Effectively communicate about, and promptly follow up on, all camp or center related inquiries in‑person, over email, or on socials, including furthering any leads to the executive team
Prepare materials for program activities
Work with parents to define children’s learning needs
Supervise, engage, and interact with children and families in the center
Ensure that parents understand how their child is learning and progressing
Keep accurate records of activities, attendance, and calendars
Recruit, organize, and coordinate staff
Engage and oversee sensei to ensure team needs are met
Ensure the center is a fun and safe learning environment for our students
Assist and/or plan, organize, promote, and conduct special activities as needed during work hours
Uphold corporate standards with respect to center cleanliness & operational standards
Be able to think on the fly and be perceptive to center dynamics
Report daily, weekly, monthly to the executive team on center, student, and personal progress
Address emergency/accident issues regarding patrons and facilities
Handle confidential and sensitive information in an effective manner
Represent the program in a positive light to the participants, employees, and community
Be responsible for following all prescribed safety rules and regulations
Report to work free from the effects of drugs/controlled substances and/or alcohol, and free from impairment due to prescription drugs
Be able to attend flexible trainings either during the regular workday and/or in the evenings of May 26‑29
Maintain regular and prompt attendance for the duration of the summer schedule: June 1‑August 7, with the week off of June 29‑July 3
Qualifications
Enthusiasm for working with kids REQUIRED
Must be at least 21 years of age and be able to pass a background check
2‑3 years working in a camp, after school, recreation or school setting with children ages 5 and up is REQUIRED
Previous summer program/camp experience with youth ages 5‑14 years preferred
Currently enrolled or have graduated from College or University; Degree preferred
Supervisory experience preferred
Must be fun to work with and enjoy working in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
Extraordinary attention to detail and deadline oriented; we can’t miss dates or overlook customers
Knowledge of business operations and team leadership a plus
Working knowledge of basic computer practices and procedures, as well as familiarity with technology, Microsoft suite, social media, and office equipment
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and the ability to understand and communicate written/oral forms and instructions
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective and courteous relationships with participants, staff, vendors, parents, and providers
Ability to invest time and energy into understanding the implementing of each summer camp program
Ability to work independently and to submit and maintain records efficiently, accurately and prepare clear and concise reports
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work under pressure
Ability to document and develop clear internal and external operational procedures
CPR certification and First Aid knowledge preferred but not required
Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
