Location: United States (Washington, DC area).
Position Summary Health Affairs Publishing, LLC publishes groundbreaking nonpartisan research and analysis to improve health and health care, including its flagship product, Health Affairs. This executive director will provide strategic and operational leadership, overseeing the efficiency of programs and staff. The role requires understanding publishing trends, developing revenue plans for a tax‑exempt organization, hiring, managing staff, and strong communication, decisiveness, and leadership.

Essential Skills And Experience
7+ years senior management experience, preferably with nonprofits.
10+ years managing high‑performing teams.
Experience managing multi‑million‑dollar organizations, especially in healthcare, communications, policy, publishing, or research.
Expertise in publishing and communications.
Established network with funders and donors (foundations, national agencies, corporate philanthropies).
Successful fundraising and development background, along with public relations, marketing, and fundraising experience.
Knowledge of nonprofit leadership and management principles.
Proven success working with a board of directors.
Entrepreneurial mindset with an innovative approach to business planning.
Passion for Health Affairs Publishing and Project HOPE; strong integrity and cultural sensitivity.
Graduate degree preferred (business administration, nonprofit management, publishing, social sciences, health policy, public health, medicine, journalism, law).
Physical Demands And Work Environment Executive‑level role focused on external relations; national and some international travel expected. Primarily office‑based in the US.
Compensation Competitive salary starting at $231,000, depending on qualifications, plus comprehensive benefits: health, dental, vision, life insurance, 403(b), paid leave, and more.
