Job Overview The Vice President, Sales and Relationship Management is responsible for delivering exceptional service to Energy sector clients, expanding the global Energy client base and building partnerships to strengthen the firm’s market position. This role is part of the Commercial department and reports into the Chief Commercial Officer.

This position is based in our Chicago office and requires a minimum of 3 days per week onsite in office.

Job Responsibilities Client Relationship Management

Build and maintain strategic relationships with Energy clients (producers, marketers, refiners, traders, shippers)

Act as the primary contact for clients, delivering tailored solutions and addressing client needs

Conduct market analysis, identify trends, and develop client‑specific strategic plans

Represent AAC‑USA at client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities

Business Development and Sales

Expand the Energy client base

Contribute to achieving income targets

Risk and Compliance Management

Serve as the first line of defense for credit, market, operational, and regulatory risks

Collaborate with Credit and Risk teams to establish credit and risk metrics

Maintain client files and ensure compliance with policies and regulations

Monitor risk developments and address deviations from agreed terms with clients

Operational Excellence

Oversee client onboarding, coordinating with Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams

Ensure smooth account opening, credit applications, and operational processes

Monitor client portfolios for adherence to approval conditions and covenants

Act as a subject matter expert in energy, gas, and power commodities

Build relationships across the value chain (upstream producers, midstream logistics, downstream marketers)

Align with global efforts to expand AAC‑USA's revenue and footprint

Basic Qualifications

8+ years of experience in commodities trading, clearing, or financial services, with a focus on Energy

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

Expertise in energy and gas commodities and derivatives markets

Strong understanding of clearing organizations, exchanges, and industry infrastructure

Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.

Strong negotiation and strategic planning abilities

Familiarity with tax, legal, and technical documentation related to Energy transactions.

Experience with Salesforce CRM

Licenses

Series 3 license required within 90 days of starting

Annual base salary, not including discretionary bonus eligibility: $130,000 - $200,000
