EVENT OPERATIONS MANAGER
Classification : Year-round; Full-time
FLSA : Exempt
Reports to : Director of Events
Location : Park City, Utah
Travel : Approximately 75%

Summary The Event Operations Manager works with the Director of Events to plan, develop, and manage the event venue production and operational elements of USSS events. Responsibilities include leading and overseeing USSS equipment and materials, managing venue production personnel, scheduling materials and transportation, and participating on select Event Management Teams to oversee venue infrastructures.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the Event Operations and Venue Production department at USSS event properties.
Oversee all technical sport facilities at elite event properties, coordinating with Event Directors and Event Managers.
Manage a budget of approximately $50,000 annually.
Secure equipment, facilities, and materials for events.
Establish and enforce policies and procedures for department asset control.
Plan and oversee venue build‑out and breakdown for all elite level events.
Design and develop event venue layouts, including permanent and temporary infrastructure requirements.
Collaborate with Technical Advisors (TAs) to prepare course plans and oversee implementation.
Apply and understand FIS requirements and resolve competition issues in partnership with TAs.
Oversee sponsorship inventory and equipment, ensuring compliance with FIS regulations.
Act as competition liaison with TV production for onsite operational needs and logistics.
Coordinate TV structure placement and view‑angle issues with TAs.
Manage event operations personnel, including travel bookings and flight arrangements for World Cup/National Championship staff.
Assist the Event Director in delivery of vendor services and FIS‑provided timing and data services.
Develop and implement an annual event operations plan with department staff.
Maintain and manage event equipment, supplies, signage, banners, and asset management system.
Perform semi‑annual inventory of all equipment and supplies and maintain repair, retrofit, and upgrade schedules.
Manage USSS storage facilities and formulate long‑term equipment and supply plans.
Provide staff training and management policies in collaboration with VP of Events.
Develop and manage safety material schedules and cross‑discipline procedures.
Create templates for bi‑annual safety material inspection reports.
Support marketing operations by coordinating sponsor servicing, banner inventory, and broadcast logistics.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5–7 years managing major events and/or large operational projects.
3–5 years negotiating contracts or agreements.
Minimum bachelor’s degree.
Experience managing complex logistical environments with diverse equipment.
Familiarity with USSS and FIS standards.
Advanced skiing or snowboarding proficiency.
Proven experience managing equipment inventories and budgets over $100,000.
Strong staff management and communication skills.
Ability to set and achieve goals and apply independent judgment.
Computer competency (spreadsheets, word processing, presentations).
Ability to travel.
Essential Functions Incumbents must lift up to 50 pounds, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and be available for travel, weekends, nights, holidays, and on‑call duty.
Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises the Event Operations Crew.
