Events and Communications Manager (Chicago, IL)
As the North America Events and Communications Manager (Chicago, IL) you will be responsible for creating exceptional event experiences that showcase Philips' brand, products, solutions and internal communications such as internal newsletters, townhalls, etc. The role ensures high engagement, manages extensive interactions with agencies and delivers high‑quality events on time and on budget.
Your role
Drives the execution of complex trade shows and events from conception to completion, managing all phases including planning, budgeting, vendor management, on‑site execution, detailed post‑event reporting and continuous improvement recommendations.
Works closely with marketing teams to understand product and solution positioning, ensuring that event content and activities align with promotional strategies and enhance impact.
Builds and nurtures strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, internal teams, external vendors, and clients, to foster collaboration and deliver events based on aligned objectives.
Ensures compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and corporate policies throughout the event planning and execution process, maintaining high standards of safety and governance.
Implements sophisticated measurement and analytics frameworks to assess event performance, using data‑driven insights to refine strategies and demonstrate return on investment (ROI).
Troubleshoots and resolves complex issues or challenges that arise during event planning and execution, using strategic problem‑solving skills to minimize disruption and uphold event quality.
You're the right fit if
You have a Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
You have 5+ years of experience managing trade shows and/or events across a complex healthcare organization. Medical device event planning experience strongly preferred.
Your skills include project management and organization skills with the ability to lead internal and external resources; proficiency in MS Office, lean process and project methodology tools, Salesforce, MS Teams, SharePoint and other event management tools are a plus.
You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum physical, cognitive and environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
Travel may be up to 20%.
How we work together We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office‑based teams, this means working in‑person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full‑time presence in the company's facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.
This role is an office role located in Chicago, Illinois.
