We are partnering with a
rapidly growing commercial lending platform
to hire a
Director of Portfolio Management
within their Real Estate Finance division. This is a
high-impact leadership role
responsible for overseeing a national commercial real estate loan portfolio, managing risk, and partnering closely with originations and underwriting teams. The organization is experiencing strong growth and expansion, creating the need for senior leadership within portfolio management. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage a
commercial real estate loan portfolio , including performance monitoring and risk mitigation Lead borrower relationships and serve as a key point of contact for ongoing portfolio management Identify credit risks, proactively resolve issues, and manage loan modifications and workouts Risk ratings and impairment analysis Loan modifications, maturities, and past dues REO and non-performing asset management Partner cross-functionally with
originations, underwriting, and senior leadership Prepare and deliver
executive-level reporting and portfolio insights Drive process improvements and enhance portfolio management workflows Mentor and develop junior team members (player/coach role) Qualifications 10–12+ years of experience in
portfolio management, credit risk, or commercial real estate lending Strong expertise in
real estate credit analysis, loan structuring, and risk management Experience managing borrower relationships and loan performance Proven ability to manage or mentor team members Strong financial statement analysis and underwriting capabilities Excellent communication skills and executive presence What Makes This Role Unique High-visibility Director role within a
