The Community Events Intern is responsible for assisting with the administration of Make-A-Wish external and internal fundraising events, including the annual Make-A-Wish Walk for Wishes, Penguin Plunge, and Golfing For Wishes.
Daily Assignments Include
Events include Walk for Wishes, Kids for Wish Kids®, Wish Makers on Campus®, and all other external events.
Assisting with community outreach, research and prospecting for community groups and sponsorships.
Coordinating event logistics including processing license agreements, conducting outreach calls, event setups, and event debriefs.
Creating marketing and stewardship collateral events.
Requirements Skills and Abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Solid organizational abilities
Canva skills are a plus
Desire to contribute to the mission of Make‑Wish
Additional Requirements
Must be currently enrolled in a college or university academic program
Must be able to commute to our downtown Chicago office located at 200 W Monroe St, Suite 1801 Chicago, IL 60606
Must be available to work in the office on Wednesdays and Thursdays
Minimum age for all internships is 18
Selected candidates will be asked to participate in a criminal background check
Time Commitment 12 - 15 hours per week (hybrid work experience), including weekly in‑office working days on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The cycle runs from June 4th, 2026, through August 6th, 2026. Official start date is on Thursday, June 4th, 2026, with mandatory in‑person intern orientation at 9:30am.
