Director of Learning & Development, Alpha - $200,000/year USD
Crossover, Las Vegas, NV, United States
On-site positions available in Greenwich, CT | Bethesda, MD | Chicago, IL | Piedmont, CA.
$200,000
annual salary, disbursed weekly. Full health, dental, and vision benefits from day one. Relocation assistance provided.
The kindest thing you can do for a student who achieves 99% is to withhold the 100% label. If that statement causes discomfort, this role is not the right fit. If it resonates, continue reading.
Alpha students do not passively attend lectures. They advance through adaptive applications, absorbing material at double the speed of conventional classrooms while simultaneously developing practical life competencies. Your responsibility is to ensure three core commitments are fulfilled for every child in your cohort: genuine enthusiasm for school, 2x accelerated learning, and acquisition of skills beyond traditional academics. You will also train the Guides who uphold these commitments across your campus.
Your day begins with data review. Analytics reveal which students are progressing and which require intervention. Mid‑morning, you facilitate a live workshop, guiding K‑8 students through public speaking or concentration training using Alpha's structured framework. Post‑lunch, you observe a Guide's session, then provide them with three precise actions to refine their execution. On certain days, you serve as the motivational catalyst in group huddles, transforming leaderboard rankings into momentum. You maintain direct involvement with your own student cohort while simultaneously cultivating Guides capable of meeting your benchmark—and as their capability grows, your influence expands from a single cohort to an entire campus.
You will observe reserved children present with confidence to adults. You will witness a student who previously "despised school" request extended time. And you will understand that the standard you maintained is precisely what enabled their progress, because upholding expectations demonstrates your belief in their capacity to meet them.
If you have broken records, transformed underachievers into top performers, and are prepared to do the same for children: submit your application now.
What You Will Be Doing
Facilitating one‑hour live workshops with K‑8 students covering life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange, using Alpha's established playbook
Developing Guides through direct observation, precise feedback, and active training so they execute workshops with equivalent energy and accuracy
Conducting daily motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of students reach their weekly learning targets using developmentally appropriate incentives including school currency and leaderboards
Analyzing Coachbot analytics and student data to determine which individuals require support, then providing direct intervention
Personally mentoring a small cohort of students, demonstrating the coaching and motivational techniques you require from every Guide
What You Won’t Be Doing
Developing lesson plans or creating curriculum. Students engage with adaptive apps; your focus is on making the people supporting them exceptional.
Delivering traditional lectures. You operate as 80% motivator and 20% content expert; if you prefer whiteboard instruction, this position is not suitable.
Accepting work that is "nearly complete." 100% mastery is the standard, and reducing it does not serve students.
Working from an office managing administrative tasks. The majority of your time is spent in direct interaction with students and Guides.
