Cell Therapy Account Specialist, Overlay (Contractor)
as part of the Commercial team based in Richmond, VA and Baltimore, MD.
Role Overview The Cell Therapy Account Specialist represents Legend’s products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales, and consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets within a specific geographic area.
Key Responsibilities
Work in partnership to drive Carvykti as the preferred CAR‑T therapy for multiple myeloma among community and institution‑based oncology customers, coordinating activities for impactful engagement within the territory.
Develop comprehensive understanding of Legend and competitor products in our therapeutic area and the complexities associated with the disease state.
Navigate a complex account environment, understanding the needs and issues of stakeholders at all levels, and triage to appropriate internal stakeholders for support.
Understand the issues and opportunities unique to each geography.
Provide insights to the cross‑functional team on patient interactions, account business trends, and potential changes in the therapeutic landscape.
Leverage intel and insights to develop and assertively implement an account business plan that meets customer needs and achieves corporate goals.
Collaborate with internal team members on cross‑functional projects related to specific accounts or physicians, and with outside partner companies to co‑promote products or services.
Assist in identifying and resolving issues and opportunities, communicating proactively to marketing and sales management; manage a territory budget for customer engagements, speaker events, and other external expenditures.
Represent Legend at national and/or local symposiums and conventions.
Demonstrate initiative, a sense of urgency, and the willingness to work hands‑on in a fast‑paced entrepreneurial environment.
Show leadership among peers by consistently modeling appropriate, compliant behavior and conduct.
Perform all required administrative functions, including reporting call activity, customer information, submitting expenses, and reporting adverse events to Legend’s Drug Safety department and other internal departments.
Actively promote the appropriate use of Legend’s products to healthcare professionals in accordance with Corporate, PhRMA, and OIG guidelines.
Ensure strict compliance with all regulatory agencies, state, and federal law.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and business ethics.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Preferred 3 years of oncology or specialty healthcare sales experience.
Proven and consistent track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives, preferably in specialty markets.
Experience managing and executing within large community accounts, including strategic planning and problem solving.
Previous sales experience in cell therapy or bone marrow transplant is a plus.
Previous product launch experience in a highly competitive environment.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication (written and presentation) skills.
Superior selling skills honed in highly competitive markets.
Proven expertise in building relationships and influencing.
Aptitude for rapid learning and retention of technical and scientific product‑related information.
High goals and performance standards, self‑motivation, and ability to work with a general level of autonomy.
Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration.
Ability to read situations quickly, anticipate, and adjust for problems and roadblocks.
Valid driver’s license.
Agility in multi‑tasking.
Travel ability up to 50‑60% of the time.
Proven track record of attaining organizational objectives.
Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills.
Accurate and timely performance of administrative responsibilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
