Group Director, Marketing Effectiveness & Intelligence

– In this role, you will lead efforts to optimize marketing performance and drive data"-driven decision‑making across client teams, delivering insights that directly influence strategy, budget, and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership & Client Embedding:

Serve as the primary strategic partner for assigned client teams, fully embedded within their operations to understand business objectives and marketing strategies.

Identify opportunities for marketing optimization, efficiency gains, and incremental growth through rigorous data analysis and strategic insights.

Build strong relationships with marketing leaders and stakeholders, building trust and influencing strategic direction.

Marketing Performance Analysis & Measurement:

Implement measurement hierarchy frameworks, KPIs, and attribution models to assess ROI across all channels.

Use advanced analytical techniques and tools to identify trends, correlations, causal relationships, and future opportunities.

Oversee generation of performance reports, dashboards, and ad‑hoc analyses for stakeholders at all levels.

Insights Generation & Narrative Development:

Translate complex data sets into clear, concise, and compelling insights and recommendations.

Craft narratives for C‑Suite and senior leadership, simplifying complexity and demonstrating business impact.

Develop visually impactful presentations that resonate with technical teams and executive boards.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Leadership:

Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Product, Finance, and Data Science teams to foster data‑driven decision making.

Champion the use of effectiveness insights for budget allocation, campaign optimization, and audience targeting.

Mentor junior team members within the ME&I department, fostering continuous learning and analytical excellence.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in marketing analytics.

Lead initiatives to improve data quality, infrastructure, and analytical processes, ensuring scalability and reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related field; Master’s degree (MBA, MS) preferred.

10+ years of progressive experience in marketing analytics, marketing effectiveness, or business intelligence, with 3‑5 years in a leadership or group director role.

Experience developing and implementing marketing measurement frameworks, including multi‑touch attribution, ROI analysis, MMM, and LTV calculations.

Ability to operate as a highly effective self‑starter, taking initiative and driving projects independently.

Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills with a talent for deriving actionable insights from complex data.

High curiosity, inclination to ask "why," and passion for uncovering deep insights that drive growth.

Proficiency with advanced analytics tools (SQL, Python/R, Google Analytics 4, Adobe Analytics, Salesforce, CDP).

Expertise in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio) for executive‑level dashboards.

Superior communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with a track record of influencing C‑Suite stakeholders.

Strong understanding of digital, social, offline, email, and content marketing channels and their measurement challenges.

Desired Skills & Attributes

Client‑facing or internal consultancy experience with strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and advisory skills.

Deep understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning concepts.

Salary and Benefits Base salary range: $100,000—$230,000 USD. Compensation varies based on location, business needs, and experience. We offer a competitive benefits package (details available on WPP Benefits).
