Job Overview
MAU is hiring a Regional Sales Engineer for our client in Charlotte, NC. As a Regional Sales Engineer, you will drive pre‑sales activities by providing technical expertise, understanding customer needs, presenting automation solutions, and supporting the sales process. This is a direct‑hire opportunity.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
3–5 years of pre‑sales or technical sales experience, preferably in power generation, transmission, and distribution
Preferred Education and Experience
Strong academic background in power systems, control systems, or automation
Certifications relevant to the utility industry and power systems
General Requirements
Strong understanding of power transformer technology, controls, and relevant industry standards
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences
Thorough understanding of transformer automation and concepts such as AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation) and LTC operation
Willingness to travel frequently (estimated up to 50%)
Essential Functions
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to position automation solutions effectively
Transfer knowledge of automation products to the sales team to support communication of technical benefits
Provide insights from customer interactions to the product development team to inform enhancements
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers during the pre‑sales phase, addressing inquiries and technical concerns
Engage with potential clients to assess technical requirements and business challenges related to transformer automation
Provide in‑depth technical expertise and advice on automation products, demonstrating how solutions address customer needs
Deliver pre‑sales technical support to the sales team, including product demonstrations and technical presentations
Collaborate with the regional sales team to develop pre‑sales strategies for the transformer automation portfolio
Support group sales growth and targets for the assigned region’s automation portfolio
Working Conditions
Hybrid work environment with 1–2 days in‑office as needed
Frequent travel to customer sites and industry events
Physical Demands
Ability to travel frequently (up to 50%)
