Role Description

Burnsville Pride is looking for a social media intern to help with content creation, posting and engagement on our digital platforms. This internship will run through our annual Burnsville Pride event in September, with most responsibilities centered around promoting the event, sharing live updates and wrapping up after it ends. This role would be great for current high school/college students or recent graduates looking to gain social media experience.

As an intern, you'll get practical experience managing social media for a community group, directly supporting both the promotion and live coverage of a major event. You'll build a portfolio of published work, benefit from mentorship and constructive feedback on your social media and storytelling and enjoy a flexible schedule to fit your school or summer plans.

Please keep in mind that this internship is unpaid and volunteer-based. We're happy to help students earn academic credit and we're dedicated to making sure interns leave with impressive, portfolio-ready social media samples by the end of their time with us.

Key Responsibilities

Create graphics for social media

Edit short-form videos for platforms like Instagram and TikTok

Capture photos and videos at Burnsville Pride events

Assist with scheduling posts and community engagement

Preferred Skills and Interests

Interest in communications, marketing, public relations or digital media

Basic experience with graphic design or video editing tools

Strong attention to detail and follow-through

Interest in community work and inclusive storytelling
