Overview
The Huntington Design team is seeking a highly motivated Interaction Designer/Information Architect to join a team of design thinkers focused on creating experiences that help people. As an Interaction Designer, you will lead and facilitate the design process and collaborate with the UX team to identify solutions that balance user needs and desirability, business goals and viability, and technical feasibility across a digital portfolio with multi-channel implications. This role balances strong execution with increasing confidence in decision-making, collaboration, and problem-solving. You will design solutions used daily by customers and contribute to experiences that support their financial well-being.
Scope & Impact
Lead the UX project team and facilitate the UX process
Own features and flows from concept through delivery
Contribute across multiple features or projects within a product area
Drive customer experience outcomes for defined product capabilities
Responsibilities
Independently translate user, business, and technical requirements into interaction designs for moderately complex use cases
Leverage a user-centered design process to design multi-channel experiences for customers and associates
Own information architecture, interaction flows, wireframes, and prototypes for assigned features
Manage the UX process for features with minimal direction
Create project plans that describe the steps relative to the project scope
Collaborate with product managers and engineers to balance user needs, technical feasibility, and business goals
Facilitate UX and cross-functional meetings with clear agendas, outcomes, and next steps
Determine when to conduct usability testing and synthesize insights into design improvements
Contribute improvements and feedback to the design system
Implement UX best practices and accessibility standards
Lead the UX team in presenting deliverables to clients, partners, and executive stakeholders
Mentor junior designers through coaching, feedback, and collaborative design
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
5+ years of experience in professional UX or interaction design
Preferred Qualifications
Firm understanding of the user-centered design process
Strong interaction design and information architecture skills
Experience designing responsive web and mobile-first experiences
Familiar with ADA compliance, WCAG, and usability standards & best practices
Proficiency with Figma, Figma Make, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft 365, and Generative AI Chatbots
Ability to justify design decisions using user insights and data
Growing systems thinking
Balanced understanding of specialized UX skill sets
Proactive communicator with strong storytelling skills
Ability to guide and influence alignment with partners
Strong attention to detail and thoroughness of the design solutions and deliverables
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage time
Ability to successfully navigate ambiguity to define goals, objectives, requirements, and users’ needs that drive toward solutions
Ability to identify experience risks and articulate tradeoffs to mitigate risks
Solid understanding of product features and business context
Working knowledge of agile methodologies
Working knowledge of Design Thinking methods and the Jobs To Be Done framework
Exempt Status Yes = not eligible for overtime pay; No = eligible for overtime pay
Workplace Type Office. Certain positions outside our branch network may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement. We’re combining the best of both worlds: in-office and work from home. Remote roles may also have opportunities to come together in our offices for moments that matter. Specific arrangements will be provided by the hiring team.
Compensation Total Base Pay Range 57,000.00 - 113,000.00 USD Annual. The compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of base compensation. Actual compensation will vary based on location, experience, and education. Colleagues are eligible for incentive compensation plans. Huntington provides benefits including health insurance, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings, paid leave, paid holidays, and PTO.
