Job Title: Senior HR Consultant
Location: Tinton Falls, New Jersey (07703)
Type: 4-8 month (temporary maternity coverage)
Compensation: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Contractor Work Model: Onsite (Tinton Falls, NJ) Note: Remote work is not available.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Sr. HR Consultant Key Responsibilities
Reports to the Head of Human Resources and supported with two other HR staff members. This is a Sr. HR Generalist responsibility role.
Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions (including union employees)
Administer and oversee FMLA and leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance and proper documentation
Handle unemployment claims and respond to related inquiries
Process employment verifications and maintain accurate employee records
Partner with managers to address performance concerns and implement corrective actions
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Maintain organized documentation related to employee relations, leave administration, and compliance
Provide HR support to a field-based workforce
Sr. HR Consultant Required Qualifications
5+ years of HR experience in a fast-paced environment
Strong background in Employee Relations and FMLA administration
Experience handling workplace investigations and disciplinary actions
Knowledge of unemployment claims and employment verifications
Experience supporting union employees strongly preferred
Ability to work independently with minimal training or ramp-up time
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
High level of discretion and professionalism
Sr. HR Consultant Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related is highly preferred
Experience in construction, transportation, or similar field-based industries
HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) a plus
