Min Hourly Rate: $15.05 (Standard); $14.05 (Non-Urban); $16.30 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate: $21.50 (Standard); $21.00 (Non-Urban); $22.00 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will fill two (2) part-time (maximum of 10 hours per week) Design for Social Impact (DSI) Student Ambassador positions. DSI Student Ambassadors are current students who serve as professional representatives of the DSI program, engaging with current and prospective students, families, alumni, and campus partners through outreach and recruitment activities. They promote the DSI undergraduate certificate and microcredential by leading information sessions, attending recruitment events, and supporting office operations. Additional Required Qualifications Must be available as much as possible for DSI events, recruitment events, and any other events that pop up throughout the year (including summer), both in person and online. Must be comfortable and experienced with public speaking. Be both professional and personable — there is frequent contact with a variety of people and proper communication skills are an essential requirement. Be reliable, organized and have excellent time management. You must be capable of managing multiple tasks with different deadlines. Be familiar with Microsoft applications — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams especially! Be familiar with social media and content creation tools – Instagram, Canva, etc. Be creative, innovative, resourceful, but also be willing to listen and work with others.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications Have personal knowledge and experience in the DSI program. Experience in marketing, advertising, sales and/or community organizing.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule DSI Student Ambassadors are paid employees. A minimum of two hours per week (20 hours per term) is expected. Work schedules are flexible and may include regular weekly hours and additional event-based hours.
