Overview
The University of Virginia Human Resources seeks an HR Talent Support Representative, Associate, to join the HR Solution Center. The Talent Support Representative provides direct support to employees, managers, and HR partners across a wide range of HR services. As a key member of the HR Solution Center, this role serves as a trusted partner to the organization, ensuring consistent, reliable support and a high-quality customer experience. The Talent Support Representative operates in a fast-paced and complex environment, requiring strong customer service skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage a high volume of inquiries. This role requires a strong understanding of the sensitive nature of Human Resources and the ability to maintain confidentiality while handling employee information and HR-related matters. Responsibilities
Support the pre-boarding process for student, faculty, staff, and team member hires, ensuring timely and accurate completion of required steps Manage employment-related processes from pre-employment through termination, including background checks, licenses, and compliance requirements Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Proactively communicate with hiring managers, candidates, and HR partners to support hiring and onboarding activities Maintain accurate records and documentation within HR systems Adapt to changing priorities while managing a high volume of tasks and deadlines Perform additional duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent At least 3 years of relevant administrative or customer-facing environments, or 1 year of internal HR experience Preferred Qualifications
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality Ability to follow established policies and procedures while exercising sound judgment Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and HR systems Benefits and Employment Details
This is a non-exempt-level, overtime-eligible, full-time position with UVa benefits. Benefits highlights include: 22 days of paid time off (increasing with service), 13+ paid holidays each year, parental and community service leave, health plan options, retirement through the Virginia Retirement System, tuition and professional development benefits, and an employee wellness program; eligible for up to $500/year in wellness incentives The anticipated hiring range for this position is $18.00–$20.00/hour, depending on experience. This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The role may require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and is eligible for a hybrid schedule, with the understanding that work must be regularly conducted in person.
