Senior Director, Learning & Development Enterprise Programs

The Senior Director manages a team of professional employees and oversees the design, delivery and administration of training programs in accordance with the organization's learning and development plan. This job manages the employee capability development needs of the business by reviewing and approving current learning and development programs and enhancing the performance of individual employees. This job also manages the policy and strategy implementation for short-term results and ensures that policies and practices are understood by direct reports.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Manages the design and development of all elements of the organization's learning and development programs to foster learning and provide growth opportunities for employees within the organization.

Manages professionals with expert technical knowledge of the organization’s systems, databases and technologies to administer learning and development programs and troubleshoots complex issues that may arise throughout delivery of the programs.

Oversees learning procedure manuals, guides and course materials, such as handouts and visual materials, to support training efforts.

Manages key areas of improvement within the learning and development programs by reviewing course evaluations and quantitative training results.

Oversees activities to ensure that learning and development program covers internal systems and control processes, along with relevant external standards and regulations to best prepare employees within particular business units.

Ensures that employees are trained on general skills and competencies to be properly prepared for advanced learning and everyday administrative tasks.

Communicates with leadership to develop management skills and to implement best leadership practices within the organization.

Educational Requirements

University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred

Excellent consulting skills

Ability to conduct a learning needs/gap analysis

Ability to influence at all levels of the organization

Proven people leadership skills

Deep knowledge of adult learning principles

TIAA business acumen

Thorough understanding of human resources functions and procedures

Understanding of Learning systems (Learning Management System, Learning Experience platform, etc.)

Working knowledge of AI in Learning systems

Salary and Compensation Base Pay Range: $136,400/yr - $196,200/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
