
Marketing Communications Director, Solar

Role Purpose
The Marketing Communications Director, Solar will lead the communications team to develop strategic messaging for the Solar MAP, including employee communications, executive communications, investor relations, and product marketing activities across both solar and semiconductor markets. The role supports all product marketing activities, media, and public relations; coordinates closely with Corning Executive Communications and the Solar GA team to support business initiatives.
Responsibilities
Lead the annual planning process to develop and implement the marketing communications strategy, messaging, and program of communications activities including public relations, media relations, tradeshows, and customer outreach.
Develop product communication plans with business managers (semi, poly, wafer, module) and oversee related collateral, press releases, presentations, media activities, webpages, demos, trade shows, and social media content.
Oversee all promotion activities for new product launches, including naming, media interviews, launch events, article placement, influencer interviews, and branding campaigns.
Develop and execute proactive public relations, media relations, and community engagement plans across business locations, establishing media contacts and relationships.
Create integrated messaging for the new Solar MAP, supporting business objectives through employee town halls and communications meetings across MI and AZ (and other locations).
Lead quarterly earnings communications for Solar in close collaboration with finance and Corporate IR teams.
Develop executive communications for internal audiences (CMG, Board of Directors, SLT) and external opportunities.
Maintain crisis management and response plans.
Coordinate across the Solar business managers and Corporate Communications to build a cohesive communications strategy.
Manage tradeshow activities, including project management, speaking engagements, customer engagement, and media events.
Develop messaging documents, Q&A, stand‑by statements, and related materials for response plans.
Own and manage digital marketing platforms, developing content and strategies aligned with business objectives.
Monitor industry issues, providing capabilities and platforms to assert leadership with media, customers, influencers, and stakeholders.
Write news releases and feature articles to support PR and media efforts.
Supervise and develop a team of communications professionals, focusing on skill‑building and future leadership development.
Plan internal messaging and employee activities in support of initiatives led by Business Managers, MAP Human Resources, and Solar MAP GM.
Create and maintain a communications calendar and engagement plan for the Solar team across all 4,000 employees in MI, AZ, and remote locations.
Develop internal web pages and employee communications to promote pride and support business growth.
Deliver inspiration through digital, print, and video communication tools aligned with Solar GM vision and growth goals.
Lead Investor Day activities and collaborate with Corporate IR on key messaging, speech writing, product demos, and event logistics.
Coordinate external engagement with community leaders, government officials, and local events to promote the Solar MAP and business benefits.
Plan external speaking engagements and content creation to support marketing communications objectives.
Qualifications
Graduate‑level education in a related field.
Global experience preferred.
Compensation The range for this position is $175,348.00‑$241,104.00 assuming full‑time status.
