Northrop Grumman Corporate is seeking an Associate Public Relations Representative who has demonstrated attention to detail, exceptional organization skills and an insatiable desire to grow their career in communications. This position is based on site Falls Church, VA, with flexibility for occasional remote work.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about communications, believes in the power of teamwork and can’t start their day without consuming all the day’s news. You will work closely with communications professionals across the company and become a trusted resource for colleagues. As a member of a high-energy team, you will help support the Communications team and business leaders to tell our story to our audiences.

In This Role, You Will

Research, produce and distribute weekly communications products and reports

Write, edit and produce news releases, strategic content, summaries and other detailed products

Manage posts on the company News website and X handle

Provide front-end consultation on all company news content to align to AP style, News tone of voice and company-first messaging

Coordinate with Communications colleagues to integrate news content into their strategies and plans

Monitor, track, report and maintain situational awareness of relevant news

Monitor key stakeholder events including public speaking engagements and congressional hearings. Summarize insights and disseminate to key leaders across the company.

Advance strategy and purpose of newsroom website and its social media (X) channel to strengthen stakeholder awareness of key company strategic messages. Support Communications colleagues and executives across the company while helping run the company News Bureau

About You

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, public administration/public affairs or related field.

Will accept relevant experience in lieu of the 4-year degree; Associate’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience; High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of Associated Press style writing

Proven ability to deliver exceptional writing and editing requirements under tight deadlines

A commitment to quality work, planning, high attention to detail and accountability for results

Demonstrated mastery of Microsoft Office suite

Comfort with AI-enabled communications techniques

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working or interning on Capitol Hill, aerospace and defense industry or any U.S. Government Agency

Experience working or interning in a large and geographically dispersed and matrixed organization

Impeccable attention to detail, first-time quality work and results-driven

Experience with media relations

Experience in social media planning and execution

Passion and curiosity for following the news

Familiarity with data-driven methods to optimize online content

Salary and Benefits Primary Level Salary Range: $63,000.00 - $94,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
