This role supports our Automotive Division, which includes Union Leasing and Express 4x4 Truck Rental. Express 4x4 Truck Rental, established in 1993 and part of Sasser since 2013, offers flexible mid‑ to long‑term pickup truck rentals with a commitment to on‑time delivery across North America. Our Automotive Division is seeking a motivated and ambitious Marketing Intern to support a wide range of marketing initiatives across our two automotive brands. This role reports directly to the Director of Marketing and is designed for individuals eager to gain hands‑on experience in marketing, research, communications, and brand development.
Responsibilities
Conduct competitive research across automotive brands, including tracking how competitors position themselves across digital and non‑traditional platforms (e.g., Reddit, forums, online communities).
Perform social listening to understand customer sentiment, trends, and conversations related to competitors and the industry.
Analyze lead data and datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights (e.g., geographic trends, customer similarities, lead sources).
Research and evaluate social media platforms and channels to understand where audiences are engaging and how content is being distributed.
Assist in developing written content, including thought leadership pieces, with guidance from the marketing team and support from AI tools.
Identify and research awards, recognitions, and credibility‑building opportunities that strengthen brand reputation.
Support execution of marketing initiatives using existing templates and frameworks.
Contribute to projects that enhance brand awareness, visibility, and engagement with both clients and broader audiences.
Qualifications
Background in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Strong curiosity and willingness to learn about marketing, research, and consumer behavior.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Interest in data analysis, trends, and storytelling through insights.
Ability to navigate online platforms, forums, and social channels.
Comfortable using or learning AI tools for content creation and research.
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
Creative thinking and execution is a plus, especially for content development.
Experience creating video or short‑form content (e.g., social media videos) is a strong plus.
Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to contribute to a team environment.
Physical Demands Ability to operate in a professional environment and routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, filing cabinets, and printers.
Compensation The hourly rate for internship opportunities is $17.50 to $23.50. The hourly rate depends on knowledge, skill level, experience, and education level. This role is classified as non‑exempt for purposes of all applicable wage and hour laws, which means that the individual hired will receive overtime pay for more than 40 hours worked in a workweek.
Working Conditions Oak Brook Office with occasional remote work flexibility.
