We are a premium construction company, and our clients expect precision, professionalism, and accountability. We're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work, communicates clearly, and can confidently represent RCS throughout the pre-construction process. Position Overview
RCS is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to lead the bid development process for both residential and commercial projects. This role is critical to our growth and profitability, serving as the bridge between clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining strong relationships throughout the pre-construction process. Key Responsibilities
Develop accurate, detailed project estimates and formal bids in a timely manner Interface directly with customers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers Identify full scope of work and proactively address potential issues before submission Coordinate and conduct job site walks Prepare pricing request documents for subcontractors Draft contracts and negotiate revisions or changes as needed Assist in preparing rough project schedules (Critical Path Method preferred) Transition awarded projects to operations with complete documentation for kickoff Maintain and grow relationships with key customers and industry professionals Participate in networking events to expand referral opportunities Qualifications
5+ years of construction estimating experience (residential and/or commercial) Strong knowledge of building components, assemblies, and construction methods Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications Proficient in:
Excel Outlook PlanSwift (preferred) SketchUp (preferred)
Strong organizational and communication skills Self-motivated with ability to work independently Bachelor's degree preferred but not required Physical Requirements
Regular use of computer and office equipment Occasional light lifting Site inspections, including confined spaces Outdoor exposure including heat, humidity, and inclement weather Benefits:
