Purchasing Agent

Hire Up Staffing is seeking a Purchasing Agent in Gulfport, MS. Key responsibilities include sourcing and procuring materials and components used in manufacturing operations, maintaining accurate purchase records and vendor data, primarily within QuickBooks, communicating with suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and terms, working closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to align purchasing with operational needs, monitoring inventory levels and ensuring materials are ordered as needed to support production schedules, evaluating vendor performance and building strong supplier partnerships, and ensuring all purchasing activities follow company policies and industry standards. Qualifications include prior experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within a manufacturing environment, proficiency with QuickBooks, strong negotiation and vendor management skills, excellent organizational and communication abilities, ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting, and high attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Preferred experience includes experience purchasing materials for marine, industrial, or heavy manufacturing industries and familiarity with manufacturing components and supply chain processes.
