Piping Foreman

The Piping Foreman leads and coordinates industrial piping projects in the upstate region, overseeing pipefitters and ensuring all piping systems are installed safely, accurately, and on schedule. This role involves supervising field activities, interpreting and working from blueprints, assisting with layout drawings, and collaborating closely with the superintendent to deliver high-quality piping installations across various industrial sites. Responsibilities Supervise and lead pipefitters and piping crews on industrial job sites to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work. Oversee the installation of various types of pipe, including carbon steel and stainless steel, ensuring correct alignment, fit, and support. Monitor and direct employees performing pipe threading, pipe beveling, measuring, cutting, and installation activities. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and piping schematics to guide installation and verify that work meets design specifications. Assist in developing and adjusting layout drawings to support accurate routing and placement of piping systems. Coordinate daily tasks and project priorities with the superintendent to keep the project on schedule and within scope. Inspect completed and in-progress piping work to confirm quality, adherence to specifications, and compliance with applicable standards. Identify and resolve on-site issues related to piping installation, sequencing, and coordination with other trades. Ensure all crew members follow safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment at all times. Communicate clearly with team members and project leadership regarding progress, challenges, and resource needs. Essential Skills At least 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial piping or pipefitting. Strong knowledge of industrial piping installation, including carbon steel and stainless steel pipe. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and piping layouts. Demonstrated experience overseeing or leading pipefitters or piping crews on construction or industrial projects. Practical experience with pipe threading, pipe beveling, and pipe installation techniques. Understanding of basic welding concepts as they relate to piping systems and welded joints. Ability to plan and organize daily work activities to meet project deadlines. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements, alignments, and installations. Commitment to safety practices and consistent use of personal protective equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Industrial construction experience in environments such as manufacturing plants or similar facilities. Familiarity with stainless steel pipe installation and associated handling and fitting requirements. Ability to assist with drawing and adjusting piping layouts in the field. Effective communication skills for coordinating with superintendents, crew members, and other trades. Capability to work independently while providing clear direction and guidance to team members. Work Environment This role is based in an industrial construction setting, with work performed both indoors and outdoors depending on the project phase and location. The work schedule follows typical industrial construction hours, with the potential for varying conditions such as noise, temperature changes, and physical activity. Required personal protective equipment includes steel-toe boots, a hard hat, a high-visibility vest, and safety glasses, which must be worn as directed on site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Gaffney, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
