Business Analyst Advisor Services (Status & Alerts Product)
This role supports the Advisor Services Status & Alerts product, a core business platform used daily by financial advisors. The position is newly created due to growth and exists to support increasing demand, new initiatives, and expanding project work. The Business Analyst will act as a critical bridge between business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams. This individual will analyze business processes, gather and document requirements, and help deliver data-driven, Agile-based solutions that improve efficiency and align with strategic business goals. The role has a strong Agile/Scrum focus and requires hands-on experience partnering closely with Product Owners, managing backlogs, writing high-quality user stories, and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) throughout the development lifecycle. Product & Stakeholder Partnership (~75%) Partner closely with Product Owners to gather, analyze, and refine business requirements Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and data analysis to understand business needs Act as a liaison between business leaders and IT teams, translating business objectives into clear, actionable development requirements Ensure solutions align with product strategy, advisor needs, and broader organizational goals Agile Delivery & Backlog Management (~25%) Actively participate in and support Agile/Scrum practices, including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives Manage, groom, prioritize, and refine the product backlog in JIRA Write high-quality user stories and clear UAT acceptance criteria Track work through the full development lifecycle to ensure timely and accurate delivery Requirements & Documentation Create and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and process maps Ensure requirements are clearly documented, traceable, and testable Maintain strong attention to detail throughout documentation and delivery Testing, UAT & Change Management Plan, support, and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Validate solutions against business requirements and acceptance criteria Identify gaps, risks, and issues early and communicate effectively to stakeholders Support implementation and change management activities for new systems or enhancements Core Skills & Must-Have Qualifications Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Comfortable supporting or running Agile ceremonies and Scrum best practices Proven experience partnering with Product Owners and development teams Hands-on experience with backlog management, grooming, prioritization, and JIRA Strong ability to write clear user stories and UAT acceptance criteria Experience serving as a liaison between business and IT teams Strong attention to detail and demonstrated UAT experience Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills Desirable (Nice-to-Have) Skills Financial services domain experience (preferred to accelerate onboarding) Experience with deep data analysis, data mapping, and complex data sets Candidate Attributes Highly adaptable, flexible, and collaborative team player Able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced, growing product area Strong analytical mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach Comfortable balancing multiple priorities while maintaining quality and precision
