Associate Portfolio Manager

Position Overview The Associate Portfolio Manager will oversee the firm’s dividend growth strategy portfolios and lead research efforts across approximately $500MM of the firm’s $2.5 billion in assets under management. Working closely with the Investment Committee and financial advisors, this individual will ensure portfolios are aligned with client objectives, the firm’s investment philosophy, and fiduciary best practices. This is a highly visible leadership role within a collaborative, boutique environment. The position is designed as a succession-track opportunity, with a clear path to Chief Investment Officer (CIO) over time. Key Responsibilities: Portfolio Construction & Oversight Lead strategic and tactical dividend growth portfolios across client accounts. Design and maintain portfolios allowing for customization based on client-specific needs. Monitor day-to-day portfolio performance, risk exposures, and liquidity considerations. Implement disciplined rebalancing and tax-aware investment strategies. Ensure consistency of execution across all advisors and client segments. Investment Research & Platform Development Conduct in-depth individual equity research and alternative strategy analysis. Evaluate and refine the firm’s investment philosophy and framework. Present investment recommendations to the Investment Committee and advisor team. Written Investment Communication & Thought Leadership Author quarterly market commentary and performance updates for clients. Draft white papers, thematic investment pieces, and educational content explaining portfolio positioning and economic developments. Prepare client-friendly summaries of market events and portfolio adjustments. Collaborate with advisors to create clear, consistent messaging around investment strategy. Contribute to the firm’s brand as a thought leader through written content, presentations, and client communications. Advisor Partnership & Client Engagement Serve as the internal investment resource for financial advisors. Participate in client meetings when appropriate to explain portfolio strategy and outlook. Provide portfolio analysis and customized investment insights for complex client situations. Support business development efforts through investment presentations and materials. Governance & Compliance Lead or participate in Investment Committee meetings and document decisions. Ensure portfolios align with Investment Policy Statements (IPS). Maintain adherence to fiduciary and regulatory standards. Partner with compliance and operations to enhance reporting, trading, and oversight processes. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred). CFA designation required. 10+ years of experience in equity portfolio management and research analytics within an RIA, family office, or institutional setting. Demonstrated experience writing market commentary or investment content for clients. Deep understanding of portfolio construction and risk management. Strong communication skills — both analytical and narrative.
