Overview News Editor - The Post-Star in Glens Falls, New York, is seeking a talented, news-savvy editor to manage the editing and publication of the news outlet's print and e-editions. The news editor will track down news, coordinate with the executive editor to assign stories, edit copy, and manage the digital and print publications of the paper. The Post-Star produces three print editions each week as well as four e-editions on non-print days. The ideal candidate will have an innate sense for what's newsworthy and be able to manage a team of dedicated journalists with daily story deadlines. Responsibilities Track down news and coordinate with the executive editor to assign stories. Edit copy and manage the digital and print publications of the paper. Oversee production of three print editions each week and four e-editions on non-print days. Lead a team of journalists to meet daily story deadlines. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field, plus experience with content management systems and social media. Strong recent graduates with reporting experience will be considered. Understanding of AP style; video production is a plus. Additional details This is a full-time position with an annual salary of $60,000. Some weekend work is required. You will be expected to work in person in our Glens Falls office.
