Job Description Arcanum is currently seeking a job captain to join the residential team. The candidate will work closely with the project manager and design team to develop, detail, and coordinate schematic design through construction documents. The candidate must be creative, well-organized, self-motivated and collaborative. This position is not remote. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance to San Francisco and legally authorized to work in the United States. Arcanum is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
Qualifications
Accredited degree in architecture: B.Arch. or M.Arch.
7+ years of professional experience, primarily in high-end custom residential projects (candidates with higher levels of experience are encouraged to apply and may be considered for more senior roles)
Knowledge of CRC standards, design, and detailing in Type V construction
Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, and Adobe Suite required; Sketchup preferred
Thoughtful design skills and strong portfolio, including examples of residential construction drawings
Excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills
Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and self-management
Responsibilities
Collaborate effectively with the project manager and design team in the development of the design with limited supervision
Create preliminary and schematic design drawing packages for client presentations and design review boards
Manage production, organization, and coordination of drawing sets with an exceptional standard of craft and quality
Seek innovative approaches to communicate design ideas efficiently, effectively, and artfully using various software platforms
