Position Summary The Compensation & Benefits Specialist is responsible for supporting the design, administration, and continuous improvement of compensation and benefits programs at Samyang America. This role plays a critical part in ensuring internal equity, external competitiveness, and compliance with U.S. labor laws, while supporting Samyang’s rapid growth and global expansion. This position works closely with HR and global headquarters to deliver accurate, market-aligned compensation structures and competitive benefits programs that support employee engagement and business objectives.

Responsibilities Compensation

Support the development, administration, and maintenance of salary structures, pay bands, and job leveling frameworks.

Conduct market benchmarking and compensation analysis using external surveys and internal data to ensure competitiveness and pay equity.

Partner with HR and business leaders on compensation-related matters including new hires, promotions, adjustments, and annual review cycles.

Prepare compensation data, reports, and analysis for leadership and HQ review.

Ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local pay regulations (including California pay transparency requirements).

Benefits

Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and leave programs.

Serve as a key point of contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries, enrollment, and life events.

Support benefits benchmarking and cost analysis to balance competitiveness and financial sustainability.

Ensure benefits programs comply with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., ACA, COBRA, FMLA, CFRA).

Compliance & Operations

Maintain accurate compensation and benefits records in HRIS and payroll systems.

Support audits, reporting, and required filings related to compensation and benefits.

Collaborate with payroll (HR OPS) and finance teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment.

Assist in the development and update of policies, guidelines, and employee communications related to compensation and benefits.

Global & Cross-Functional Support

Support HR initiatives related to global expansion (e.g., Canada, Mexico, Brazil) in coordination with HQ and local partners.

Participate in cross-functional projects related to total rewards, HR systems, and process improvements.

Provide clear, professional communication to both local leadership and global stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.

5-7 years of experience in compensation, benefits, or total rewards roles.

Strong understanding of U.S. compensation practices and employee benefits administration.

Knowledge of U.S. labor and employment regulations, particularly California employment laws.

Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills.

Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., ADP or similar).

Preferred

Experience supporting multi-state or international organizations.

Exposure to compensation benchmarking tools and salary surveys.

Professional certifications such as CCP, CBP, SHRM-CP, or PHR.

Bilingual ability (English/Korean) is a plus.

The base salary for this position is between $75,000.00 and $90,000.00 per year. Actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, and location. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits, including an annual incentive bonus, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, PTO/FTO, and a 401(k) plan with company match.
