Job Description Join FIS as our Federal Affairs Lead and play a defining role in shaping the company's U.S. federal public policy strategy.

In this high‑visibility position, you will help advance FIS's priorities at the intersection of financial services, technology, and innovation. We're seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is energized by tackling complex, cross‑functional challenges.

About the Role In this role, you'll leverage your deep understanding of the U.S. regulatory and political landscape to drive policy analysis, advocacy, and engagement with key stakeholders—including federal regulators, members of Congress, trade associations, and internal business leaders. You will build influential relationships, represent FIS in policy forums, and help position the company as a trusted voice in shaping the future of financial technology.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of strategic insight and tactical execution, excels at building networks, communicates with confidence in public settings, and is passionate about advancing thoughtful, modern policy frameworks for the financial services industry.

What you will be doing

Advise senior leaders across FIS on emerging federal regulatory and legislative developments, shaping business strategy and product priorities.

Drive the company's policy and advocacy efforts by developing strategic positions, preparing high‑quality briefing materials, and leading responses to regulatory consultations.

Cultivate influential, bipartisan relationships with federal agencies, members of Congress, congressional staff, trade associations, and key industry stakeholders—serving as a visible representative of FIS in Washington, DC.

Lead advocacy strategy execution to advance FIS's policy goals across federal and state legislative and regulatory bodies.

Manage FIS's federal PAC activities, including contribution recommendations, fundraising efforts, and compliance obligations.

Oversee policy project management, ensuring clear deliverables, timely progress tracking, and strong alignment with business and executive stakeholders.

What You Bring

Experience & Expertise

7+ years of leadership experience in public policy, government relations, or related government roles.

Deep understanding of federal legislative and regulatory processes.

Knowledge of the payments, financial services, and technology sectors is a plus.

Strategic & Analytical Capabilities

Strategic, politically savvy thinker with the ability to translate complex policy developments into actionable guidance.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to manage tight deadlines and operate effectively in high‑pressure environments.

Consistent sound judgment and understanding of the broader commercial and regulatory landscape.

Communication & Relationship Building

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including communicating confidently at the executive level.

Proven ability to build and maintain strong, bipartisan relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.

Skilled at navigating interpersonal dynamics, "reading the room," and adapting messaging to diverse audiences.

Leadership & Teamwork

Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative, inclusive team culture.

Track record of bringing teams together to address challenges and align on shared goals.

Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and integrity.
