Post-lunch, you review a markup from production, refining a cabinet detail to meet structural and local code requirements. Before the day wraps, you present a clean set of drawings and visuals to sales—ready for client approval and, ultimately, installation.

The Role We’re hiring a seasoned designer in our Los Angeles office to create fabrication-ready designs for custom electrical and illuminated signs. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, sales, and production to turn brand concepts into reliable, manufacturable solutions.
What you’ll do
Design custom illuminated and electrical signage from initial concept through final production release
Produce detailed layouts, shop drawings, and presentation visuals that communicate intent clearly
Engineer for reality—ensure compliance with electrical, structural, and local code requirements
Partner with engineering, sales, and production to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost
Incorporate feedback quickly; revise and update drawings to support client and shop needs
Maintain organized files, documentation, and version control across multiple concurrent projects
Balance workload and hit deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Must-haves
5+ years of professional experience designing electrical signage
Deep knowledge of illuminated sign components and construction methods
Demonstrated history producing accurate, fabrication-ready drawings
Ability to work on-site in Los Angeles, Monday–Friday, 9–5
Portfolio or work samples showcasing prior sign design projects
Nice-to-haves
Proficiency with industry tools such as Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, or comparable software
Background in a sign manufacturing or fabrication setting
Keen attention to detail, strong problem-solving, and clear communication skills
