Job Summary Support and facilitate cross‑functional Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives to deliver operational and financial improvements. Coach project teams in Lean methods, partner with business and functional leaders to implement change, and help establish and deploy standard work practices. Contribute to measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, and revenue increases aligned to project goals, and support the Amtrak‑wide Continuous Improvement program, culture, and community of practice.

Essential Functions

Lead cross-functional continuous improvement projects, leverage results across the organization.

Conduct GEMBA observations, build Value Stream Maps, and establish KPI metrics using statistics.

Drive standardized process improvement methodology to facilitate the recurrence of customer‑facing defects.

Employ Lean Six Sigma (LSS) processes and manage process improvement initiatives.

Communicate project status effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.

Plus 6 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.

Plus 8 years of relevant work experience.

Continuous Improvement experience.

Project management experience.

Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Leader, or equivalent certification.

Organizational Change Management certifications and experience.

Agile experience.

Dashboard design and/or dashboard creation experience.

Transportation industry experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Basic knowledge of Lean principles and tools.

Ability to develop and validate process flow diagrams.

Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Competencies: results oriented, able to influence without authority, initiative, communication; change agent.

Strong planning, organizing, and time management skills with the ability to collaborate with business owners and prioritize multiple project needs.

Strong analytical skills and business intuition.

Strong process analysis, design, or redesign experience.

Salary and Benefits The salary range is $94,300.00 – $122,256.00. Pay is based on several factors including education, work experience, certifications, and, where applicable, a geo‑pay differential. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs, including a short‑term incentive bonus.
