Senior Menswear Designer

is a key creative leader responsible for driving the seasonal design vision and product strategy for the brands men’s category globally. This role blends strong design sensibility with brand storytelling and commercial strategy, connecting the brand’s timeless Americana roots and connection to the sport with modern, globally relevant aesthetics. Working closely with global licensee partners, the Senior Designer ensures creative alignment, consistency, and excellence in product execution across all markets. This individual leads the development of seasonal tools—including design workbooks, color palettes, print/pattern direction, and merchandising guides—that empower licensees to deliver cohesive, aspirational brand experiences worldwide. This role is equally focused on creative ideation and practical implementation, ensuring that seasonal concepts translate seamlessly into impactful retail assortments that drive brand equity and business growth. The position also leads new product design ideation across essential menswear categories, including polo shirts, oxford shirts, T-shirts, and bottoms.

Responsibilities

Lead the creative development of seasonal menswear collections, from concept to final execution, designing commercial, trend-right, and globally resonant product that blends lifestyle appeal with sport-inspired influences. Build detailed seasonal workbooks and design decks, including color palettes, prints/patterns, trims, and silhouette direction. Identify core, volume-driving items that support brand storytelling and commercial objectives. Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, design, and merchandising teams to align design direction with seasonal narratives and brand initiatives. Develop highly visual, organized tools and assets to guide global licensees in their seasonal collections. Participate in creative direction, styling, and product selection for seasonal photoshoots. Work with print vendors and freelance designers to source and develop unique materials and graphics. Seek opportunities for product and brand collaborations, exploring innovative ideas that elevate brand visibility and push creative boundaries.

Licensee Support & Communication

Act as a creative partner and key liaison to global licensees, ensuring alignment with seasonal direction, brand guidelines, and product standards. Review licensee product development submissions via Brand Comply to maintain global consistency, quality, and brand integrity. Conduct seasonal design reviews with licensees, offering constructive feedback and creative guidance to help regional teams localize product while maintaining brand identity. Support licensees in developing strong seasonal assortments across all menswear categories.

Market Awareness & Research

Conduct ongoing market research to track global fashion trends, consumer shifts, and emerging category opportunities. Perform competitive benchmarking and seasonal shop reports to inform line planning and design direction. Stay up to date on materials, fit innovations, and trends relevant to classic American menswear. Maintain a deep understanding of traditional American style and translate it into modern, globally relevant collections.

Brand Alignment

Work closely with the VP of Merchandising and Design to drive key initiatives and ensure coordination within the design team. Collaborate with the Compliance team to ensure all creative output aligns with brand guidelines, legal standards, and global product approval processes. Engage and participate in global licensee meetings and internal discussions, offering strategic insights and relevant market perspectives. Adhere to departmental budgets and timelines while ensuring high creative standards and impactful seasonal execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field preferred. 7+ years of menswear design experience, ideally in global or multi-licensee brand environments. Deep appreciation for classic American style with the ability to reinterpret it for modern, global consumers. Strong conceptual and visual communication skills, including sketching and digital presentation. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Salary

$130,000-$150,000

+ 10% Bonus
