Job Summary Responsible for warehouse slot location and ensures that products are coming in and going out damage free. Also coordinates other special projects for the warehouse.
Reporting Relationships Accountable and Reports to: Director and warehouse managers
Direct Reports: None
Key Responsibilities
Creates slot location for new products in the warehouse, must determine crushability and stack ability of each item, to ensure products remain damage free.
Performs data entry of new and reassigned slots into the computer system.
Coordinates with Buyers and Room Leaders on new and deleted slots, and communicates with Buyers regarding slow moving items, forward buys, and special buys.
Ensures slots are properly maintained with correct labels and check digits, and monitors item movement in and out of the warehouse.
Coordinates with room leaders on slotting scenarios to increase selector efficiency.
Constantly applies Food Safety requirements and ergonomics when making decisions on product placement.
Generates a variety of reports for warehouse operations and buyers and presents reports in a user friendly format.
Investigates and recommends racking design and reconfigurations. Researches, collects bids, and purchases racking.
Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines.
Secondary Responsibilities And Frequency
Serves as Fulfillment Associate as needed.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Worker Characteristics
Excellent understanding of warehouse operations and distribution process.
Must possess the ability to solve a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
Ability to complete mathematic calculations, analyze, interpret, and evaluate technical data.
Must have planning and administrative abilities with attention to detail and follow through.
Excellent computer skills, writing and organizational skills.
Excellent knowledge of warehouse layout, engineered systems, and procedures.
Forklift license preferred.
Education And Experience
High school education or equivalent preferred
Three years warehouse operations and distribution experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
This is considered a skilled position requiring judgment and the evaluation of information. This is considered light to heavy work according to the Department of Labor Weight Classifications with primary functions being light in nature. Frequent to constant listening, talking, hearing, walking, standing, handling, seeing, bending, lifting of product, dealing with and influencing people.
Working Conditions
Refrigerated and freezer temperatures varying from 35° to -8° and ambient outside temperatures in the dry warehouse.
Busy and noisy warehouse environment as well as office conditions (climate controlled). Interaction with powered industrial equipment.
Equipment Used To Perform Job
Insulated coat, office attire, clip board, markers, office telephone system, powered industrial equipment to include: pallet jack, forklift, and reach trucks; photocopier, calculator, PC, Microsoft Excel, Word.
