
Fire Protection Estimator

Job Summary
We are seeking a Fire Protection Estimator to support a growing life safety contractor specializing in fire sprinkler systems and related services. This role plays a key part in evaluating bid opportunities, developing accurate estimates, and supporting the preconstruction process from initial opportunity through project handoff.
The Estimator will work closely with the operations and preconstruction teams to prepare competitive proposals while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, organization, and responsiveness to customers and internal stakeholders.
This position is well suited for someone who enjoys both the technical side of estimating and the relationship-driven nature of working with clients and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed estimates for fire protection and sprinkler system projects
Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope and pricing requirements
Utilize estimating software and internal tools to produce accurate cost proposals
Collect and organize all documentation necessary for each bid opportunity
Maintain organized archives including bid calendars, bid logs, estimate folders, and CRM entries
Coordinate with the preconstruction team to generate RFIs and clarify project scope when necessary
Communicate professionally with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the bid process
Manage incoming bid invitations, service account RFPs, and new project leads
Support pricing strategy in collaboration with divisional leadership
Upon project award, coordinate a detailed handoff to the assigned Project Manager
Assist with change order pricing when required after project award
Track bid performance, accuracy, and overall estimating metrics

Performance Expectations
Produce consistent bid volume and maintain organized documentation across all estimates

Support efficient handoff to project management teams once projects are awarded
Salary $65,000 - $85,000 per year
