Channel strategist
Giant Rocketship, New Orleans, LA, United States
Overview
Giant Rocketship is looking for a sharp, curious Channel Strategist to join our growing marketing team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind how we show up across paid, owned, and earned channels — ensuring our messaging lands with the right audiences at the right moments.
You will own the end-to-end channel strategy: from identifying the highest-impact opportunities to executing campaigns and translating performance data into clear, actionable recommendations. This is a high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of strategy, data, and creative — and you will collaborate closely with brand, content, performance, and product teams to bring integrated campaigns to life.
This role reports directly to the VP of Marketing and is a key voice in shaping how Giant Rocketship grows its audience and deepens engagement across every touchpoint.
What success looks like In your first 90 days, you will have audited our current channel mix, identified clear gaps and opportunities, and presented a prioritized channel roadmap to leadership. Within six months, you will be running optimized campaigns across multiple channels, driving measurable improvements in reach, engagement, and conversion. Long-term, success means building a scalable, data-informed channel strategy that becomes a core growth engine for the business — one where every dollar spent and every piece of content published has a clear strategic rationale.
Responsibilities
Develop and own the comprehensive channel strategy across paid media, social, email, SEO/SEM, partnerships, and emerging platforms.
Analyze channel performance data to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and inform budget allocation and optimization decisions.
Collaborate with brand, content, and creative teams to ensure channel execution is aligned with campaign goals and brand standards.
Build and maintain channel-specific playbooks, frameworks, and best practices to enable consistent, high-quality execution.
Define and track KPIs for each channel, delivering regular performance reports with clear insights and recommended actions.
Qualifications Experience & Education
5+ years of experience in channel strategy, digital marketing, or a related field, with a proven track record of driving growth through multi-channel programs.
Experience working in or with a marketing agency, consultancy, or high-growth brand is strongly preferred.
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related discipline — or equivalent practical experience.
Deep expertise across multiple channels including paid social, paid search, programmatic, email/CRM, SEO, and organic social.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to both marketing and non-marketing stakeholders.
Nice to Have
Experience in B2B SaaS, technology, or innovation-focused industries.
Familiarity with marketing attribution modeling and multi-touch attribution tools.
Relevant certifications such as Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, or HubSpot Marketing.
