Liberty Mutual is seeking a strategic, enterprise‑minded platform leader to steward and scale our Intelligent Work Platforms, focusing on LibertyGPT, MS Copilot, and related GenAI‑based individual productivity capabilities.
Overview This director level position is accountable for ensuring everyday AI capabilities are governed, connected, cost‑effective, secure, and delivering measurable productivity impact across the enterprise. The Director of Intelligent Work Platforms acts as the enterprise product owner and general manager for this portfolio, ensuring we solve the right problems, enable the right behaviors, and advance Liberty’s AI maturity responsibly within a highly regulated environment.
Operating Within Liberty’s Federated AI Model
Engineering teams build foundational GenAI and agentic capabilities.
BU CIOs align platforms to business use cases and value realization.
Enterprise Architecture establishes guardrails and standardization.
Key Responsibilities Enterprise Product Ownership & Platform Stewardship
Act as overall product lead for Liberty’s Intelligent Work Platform, guiding strategic clarity and cohesion.
Translate enterprise priorities and 2030 goals into actionable platform roadmaps.
Ensure the platform evolves based on real business needs, not market hype.
Maintain clarity on what EverydayAI is and is not, reinforcing disciplined adoption.
Balance innovation with operational stability, governance, and cost discipline.
Shape and evolve the Everyday AI ecosystem, including connectors for context and data, aligned to architecture and AI backbone guardrails.
Portfolio Discipline & Tool Evolution
Rationalize and optimize the enterprise portfolio of AI‑enabled productivity tools.
Contribute insights that shape investment and vendor strategy (OpenAI, Microsoft, AWS, Anthropic, etc.) in partnership with tech procurement.
Lead licensing strategy, seat optimization, and consumption oversight with tech finance.
Prioritize long‑term enterprise value over short‑term experimentation.
Own platform operations, administration, performance, tracking KPIs, outcomes, and financial metrics.
Secure Knowledge Connectivity & Platform Risk Management
Prioritize secure enterprise data connectivity (Liberty Information Fabric, MCP patterns).
Partner with Data Platform teams for entitlement‑aware retrieval and governed knowledge access.
Integrate platform capabilities with enterprise architecture standards.
Provide input to risk experts to evolve controls and risk frameworks.
Translate regulatory obligations (GDPR, EU AI Act, etc.) into practical platform constraints.
Shape governance narratives to enable responsible scaling of AI.
Adoption, Education & Workforce Enablement
Establish KPIs for adoption, usage depth, and measurable productivity impact.
Develop and scale enablement programs with PP&B GenAI culture and training teams and Tech strategy team.
Ensure employees understand capabilities and limitations of intelligent work platforms.
Promote responsible usage patterns through structured education.
Reinforce a mindset shift from experimentation to sustainable, value‑driven use.
Federated Leadership & Cross‑Enterprise Coordination
Operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment, influencing without direct authority.
Support business unit technology teams in their Everyday AI strategies via foundational components aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
Engage enterprise risk and governance forums to report progress, manage risk exposure, and secure alignment.
Partner with cyber, legal, compliance, and PPB in designing GenAI guardrails that are risk‑aware, not risk‑averse.
Ensure platform expansion aligns with Liberty’s regulatory obligations and risk posture.
Act as a connector within Liberty’s federated operating model, coordinating across technology architecture, engineering, and cyber teams.
Enterprise Platform & Product Leadership
10+ years leading enterprise‑scale digital or SaaS platforms.
Demonstrated product mindset in emerging or rapidly evolving technologies.
Experience scaling enterprise tools from early adoption to broad deployment.
Strong bias toward platform thinking: reuse > reinvention; scale > bespoke.
Deep understanding of GenAI system architecture: foundation models, RAG, vector databases, agents, orchestration layers, etc.
Familiarity with leading platforms: Azure, AWS, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, open‑source stacks.
Knowledge of model development lifecycle and context management patterns: prompt tuning, evaluation, hallucination testing, release gating, MCP, Skills.
