
Construction Estimating Lead

What To Expect
We are seeking a seasoned Construction Estimating Lead to establish and lead the estimating function for our growing construction procurement team. This individual will develop processes, tools, and standards to deliver precise, construction-ready cost estimates across diverse scopes of work.
What You'll Do
Build Estimating Framework: Develop and implement estimating processes, templates, and best practices
Cost Analysis & Takeoffs: Lead detailed quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and pricing for multiple trades (e.g., concrete, steel, MEP, civil, site work) across commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects
Collaboration: Coordinate with Construction Purchasing teams to ensure alignment between estimates and market pricing
Process Optimization: Continuously refine estimating workflows, leveraging technology and market data to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
Mentorship: Train and guide junior estimators or support staff as the team grows
Compliance: Ensure estimates adhere to industry standards, contract requirements, and regulatory guidelines
What You'll Bring
Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in construction estimating, with a proven track record of managing complex, multi‑trade projects
Preferred: Experience working directly for a general contractor or construction firm
Deep knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequencing
Comfortable applying unit rate estimation strategies
Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of contract types
Excellent analytical and communication skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field or equivalent experience
