A well-established Commercial General Contractor in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join their growing preconstruction team.
This contractor specializes in ground-up commercial and industrial projects, with a strong pipeline of site development and infrastructure-heavy work. They’re looking for someone with a solid background in civil scopes who can play a key role in delivering accurate, competitive bids.
The Role:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for sitework and civil packages
Analyze drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports
Perform quantity take-offs for earthwork, utilities, grading, paving, and drainage
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
Collaborate with project managers and preconstruction teams during bid phases
Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
What They’re Looking For:
3+ years of experience in estimating, with a focus on civil/sitework scopes
Experience using Agtek
Experience working for a General Contractor or Civil Contractor
Strong knowledge of ground-up commercial or industrial projects
Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications
Strong analytical and communication skills
