
Landscape Architecture Designer III

Job Description
Location: Tampa, FL. Position: Landscape Architecture Designer III. The selected candidate will be involved in project work, including public/private projects with an emphasis on municipal, state, and federal projects involving transportation, streetscapes, waterfront development, parks, trails, and open space design, place‑making, and planning.
Responsibilities
Preparing planning documents, conceptual and schematic designs, illustrations and graphics, construction details, construction documents, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates for a wide variety of public and private sector projects.
Performing field reviews and analysis of project sites and study areas and preparing written documentation of observations and conditions.
Knowledge of construction materials and techniques, including detailing.
Plan and organize multiple projects and effectively work with other Landscape Architects, Designers, and Technicians.
Understand quality control coordination and practice structure, and be able to comply with company standards.
Maintain regular office hours and participate in company functions where appropriate.
Will work under the supervision of a project manager or senior‑level team member.
Under the direction of the Supervising Landscape Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.
May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.
Domestic travel may be required.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from a Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board (LAAB) accredited program, Environmental Design, or other related degree, and 4+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and SketchUp, or other related 3D graphic and CADD software.
Valid US Driver’s License is required. As a condition of employment, the selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Due to the nature of the position and the work, U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from a Landscape Architecture Accreditation Board (LAAB) accredited program.
Experience includes participation with studio team members on project work with emphasis on municipal, state, federal projects involving transportation, streetscapes, waterfront development, parks, trails, and open space design, place‑making, and planning.
Registered Landscape Architect (Licensed in Florida) or ability to obtain licensure within 9 months of start date.
Experience with three‑dimensional design, 3D modeling illustrations, and graphic design.
Experience with Florida Department of Transportation-related projects.
Experience with the design process, conceptual thinking, and detailed design/construction document knowledge, well organized, and attention to scheduling requirements.
Experienced with project management, time management, and task management skills.

Compensation USD 85,000 - USD 95,000 yearly
