Senior Associate, Social Media Organic & GEO Content Strategist
The Enterprise Brand team is responsible for positioning and differentiating the Capital One brand and empowering teams across the enterprise to deliver a cohesive and powerful brand experience – to our employees, customers, prospects and the community at large.
Capital One is seeking a Senior Brand Associate to support our Social Media Strategy. As a key member of our dedicated team, you will work with our internal business partners to effectively align goals and understand the business needs and objectives to drive strategy for our fast‑paced social media channels. You will generate ideas and support marketing initiatives intended to impact brand health and drive successful business results for the enterprise. You will be responsible for ensuring that all initiatives align with the overall channel strategy and create an industry‑leading customer experience that delivers on brand goals and the overarching objectives of Capital One.
In this role, you will help manage strategy for Capital One’s social media content for our Business Cards & Payments line of business, as well as the development process from end‑to‑end. This includes developing strategic intent for social posts, briefing creative teams, providing strategic guidance and guardrails for paid media support, and working with internal partners, as well as legal teams, to ensure we are publishing a regular cadence of brand‑defining content that delivers on Capital One’s strategy and brand standards.
What You’ll Do
Develop content for all pre‑planned and real‑time social media content across a range of campaigns for our business social channels in accordance with a content strategy
Drive insights and learnings that fuel your line of business and influence our publishing agenda
Make strategic recommendations that drive social engagement, impressions, or conversions
Support GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) strategies with developing social content optimized for AI search
Partner across the organization and various teams to communicate and manage projects
Develop and present creative briefs to collective teams, while providing proper oversight of creative development to ensure marketing assets are on brand, high quality, and unassailable
Develop thoughtful media briefs for our paid social media planners and advise on social advertising strategies and recommendations that best meet the objectives of your line of business
Work with Agency partners to deliver quality work product and oversee creative assets and marketing materials
Manage input from cross‑functional stakeholders (internal & external partners, creative team, legal, compliance, etc.)
Handle various project‑oriented tasks as needed, such as process improvements, calendar development and execution
Optimize marketing strategies informed by past results, market changes and consumer insights
Work with community managers to ensure flawless execution, timely response, and consistent voice
Support ongoing and campaign‑specific social media reporting
Keep abreast of industry trends and competitive strategies to identify potential challenges and opportunities in the short and long term

Expertise across all major social platforms. Including: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube, etc.
Experience in B2B social strategy
Experience developing and executing Paid Media campaigns across several major social platforms – preferably for a large consumer brand
Experience in the Sports, Sponsorships, Event Production, and/or Entertainment industry is a plus
Social/Digital Agency experience is a plus
Keen process orientation and ability to work independently to resolve problems, yet with a strategic sense for how and when to effectively manage up
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with flawless execution while adhering to tight timelines, also making sure efforts are meeting the business needs at every touch point
Proven experience developing creative briefs and working closely with creative and agency teams to ensure we deliver on them successfully
Basic qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
At least 2 years of experience in marketing communications, public relations or advertising with social media focus
At least 1 year of experience with social media tools (such as Meta Business Suite, Business Managers and Sprinklr)
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of experience in digital and social media marketing
3+ years of experience in a B2B marketing environment
3+ years of marketing communication or advertising or public relations work experience
Experience working at a Fortune 500 company
3+ years of experience in financial services, or other highly regulated industry
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills
Experience in resource and task management with the ability to explore solution‑oriented approaches based on project‑specific needs
