Position Summary The Assistant Golf Professional plays a key role in the daily operation of the Golf department and in delivering an exceptional experience for members and guests within our community. Supports the Director of Golf and Senior Head Professional in all aspects of Golf Operations, including member experiences, tournaments and events, instruction support, and staff leadership. Expected to maintain a strong on-course presence, uphold service standards, and contribute to a welcoming, professional, and well‑organized golf environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Assist the Director of Golf with the daily operation and administration of the golf program.

Provide exceptional service to members and guests, serving as a visible and approachable representative of the Golf Department.

Assist with the coordination and execution of tournaments, events, leagues, and clinics, including preparation of tee sheets, scoring, and event materials.

Support tee time management and daily play coordination to ensure smooth pace of play and member satisfaction.

Provide golf instruction or support instructional programs as assigned, in accordance with PGA guidelines and club standards.

Assist with merchandising efforts in the Golf Shop, including product knowledge, sales support, and visual standards.

Ensure efficient daily setup, course readiness, and member support.

Enforce club policies, rules of play, and etiquette in a professional and respectful manner.

Maintain accurate records related to tournaments, instruction, and daily golf operations.

Support staff training and supervision as directed, fostering a positive and service‑driven team culture.

Represent the club professionally both on and off the property, upholding the values and reputation of the community.

Attend all relevant operational meetings.

Perform other job‑related duties or special projects as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)

PGA Member in good standing or actively enrolled in the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGM) program required.

Prior experience working in golf operations at a private club, resort, or high‑end daily‑fee facility preferred.

Strong knowledge of the rules of golf, tournament operations, and golf etiquette.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also managing independent responsibilities.

Proficiency with golf management software, tee time systems, POS systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

Prior experience with Northstar CMS is a plus.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak seasons.

Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast‑paced environment.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Golf Management, Sports Management, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.

Ongoing participation in PGA education, training, and professional development required if enrolled in the PGA PGM program.

Approximate Schedule And Hours Weekdays, weekends, and holidays; schedule flexible as business dictates.

Appearance and Grooming Standards Candidate should embody a polished, conservative presentation: natural hair and nails, minimal jewelry, closed‑toe professional shoes, no visible tattoos or off‑brand logos. Management reserves the right to uphold grooming and uniform standards.

Licenses And Certifications Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and meet the driver safety policy requirements.

Physical Demands And Work Environment The employee may be required to stand, move, push, pull, bend, lift, and/or move up to 50 pounds; might need to drive a golf cart around the property.
