The role at a glance:

NBBJ's California studio is seeking a passionate Interior Designer to join our multi-practice studio in Los Angeles. This is an opportunity to join a fully integrated award-winning design practice where Interior Designers collaborate with Architects, Planners, Experience Design teams, BIM Integration Leaders, and Urban Planners from programming and concept through construction. In addition to providing design leadership on projects, this individual will mentor and help grow junior interior design talent. The successful candidate is a team and practice builder with drive to contribute to our thriving practice. The role requires the successful candidate to be actively involved in the development of the work while balancing an overall, high-level understanding of multiple projects. The skill and ability to both lead and integrate into a diverse team of designers would serve the candidate well in our highly collaborative environment.

In your new role, you will:

Lead the interior design work of projects in pursuit of design excellence

Lead high-energy, collaborative teams and projects

Bring a strong desire to educate, mentor and push design dialogue within the Los Angel

Develop and implement overall design concepts and finish palettes through all phases of design

Be an excellent key seller of design ideas and a strong client relationship leader

Be able to eloquently speak with and present to clients

Be adept at the integration of strategic programming and design

Appreciate diversity in people, ideas and style

Have the desire to have a positive impact on others

What you will need to succeed:

10-15 years of professional experience in Interior Design

Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture or Architecture degree with strong portfolio of realized interior projects

LEED Accreditation or within 18 months of hire

Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills

Strong graphic communication skills.

Demonstrated knowledge of REVIT, Rhino, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

Depth of experience with selecting, and specifying materials and finishes

Experience with furniture selection and specification

Ability to work in a collaborative, open environment

Desire to help drive innovative design solutions

This role requires the individual to be based in the United States.

The annual base pay range for this role is anticipated to be between $110,000-133,000. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
