
Associate Route Merchandiser

Job Overview
The Associate Route Merchandiser will assist in satisfying needs related to vending/market/OCS routes, warehouse, shuttle service, vault, machine movement, and implementation of company directives/acquisitions. The schedule, days/methods, and geographic location will vary based on the task. The Associate Route Merchandiser must ensure customer satisfaction for assigned clients and maintain data integrity by identifying customer needs, delivering stocked products, and maintaining space and equipment at each point of sale.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Merchandising: Prepare products according to store layouts and Point‑of‑Purchase Graphics (POGs). Deploy promotions, gather and report customer feedback, and manage inventory levels for all products sold—including soft drinks, pre‑packaged foods, sandwiches, salads, soups, wraps, fruits, vegetables, candy, pastry, and snacks. Record inventory following ordering protocols, restock shelves, coolers, and coffee, and rotate product to control spoilage. Capture out‑of‑date, rejected, or unsold items.
Product Delivery: Assess inventory needs for each point of sale, coordinate with warehouse to ensure products are ready for delivery, load and unload using safety protocols, drive company vehicles, and communicate with management regarding product changes and scheduling adjustments.
Cash Handling: Collect money from kiosks and vending machines, follow cash handling and loss‑prevention protocols, record transactions on appropriate forms or handheld devices, and report any suspicious activity.
Food Safety & Sanitation: Handle perishable items properly during transit and stocking, keep coolers at appropriate temperatures, and perform routine cleaning of coffee machines, microwaves, coolers, racks, shelves, tables, countertops, floors, and windows at each point of sale.
Inventory: Complete full inventory counts and submit them according to company protocol.
Audit: Inspect food quality and appearance, report stale products, review “pick” sheets, and conduct final walk‑throughs.
Additional: Complete project assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Must be able to pass DOT physical requirements.
Clean driving record.
Prior experience driving a 16‑ft box truck or similar vehicle.
Prior retail experience and familiarity with basic merchandising concepts is strongly preferred.
Basic computer skills with iPad, handheld scanner, smartphone, and other technology.
Physical Demands
Climb in and out of a vehicle.
Load and unload products from the vehicle.
Bend, stoop, pull, push, and twist.
Walk and stand for extended periods.
Lift regularly 25–50 pounds.
The physical demands for this position include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during working hours. These requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
