Senior Strategist, Strategic Communications

This role focuses on delivering best‑in‑class strategic communications expertise to leading companies and issue advocacy organizations. As a Senior Strategist, you will help architect communications strategies for clients navigating significant business, cultural, and reputational change. You will translate complex challenges into clear narratives, stakeholder strategies, and integrated communications programs that influence conversation, strengthen reputation, and drive meaningful behaviour change. You will play a central role in shaping strategy, developing insights, and partnering with creative, account, and client teams to bring impactful communications ideas to life.

Responsibilities

Lead day‑to‑day brand and communications strategy for client initiatives and new business opportunities.

Conduct primary and secondary research to uncover audience, brand, cultural, and category insights, synthesizing findings into clear strategic implications and compelling client POVs.

Develop positioning platforms, strategic narratives, and messaging frameworks that guide integrated communications programs.

Translate insights into inspiring briefs that unlock creative ideas and drive effective campaigns.

Shape integrated communications ecosystems across earned, owned, social, and paid channels.

Identify and prioritise key stakeholder audiences and influence pathways across media, policymakers, partners, and communities.

Develop communications and action plans that advance brand and organisational objectives with priority stakeholders.

Partner closely with creative, media, and account teams to develop culturally resonant campaign ideas and communications programs.

Define success metrics and learning agendas to evaluate communications impact and inform ongoing strategy.

Contribute to agency POVs, thought leadership, and the development of IP on the sociocultural forces shaping brands, issues, and stakeholder expectations.

Qualifications

5-8 years experience in integrated strategic communications role(s) for agencies, consulting firms, and/or brands, including corporate communications, public affairs, marketing, external communications, internal/employee/executive communications, change and issues management, employer brand, purpose, values communications, and more.

Experience working in highly regulated and complex industries/sectors.

Experience conducting and synthesising desk research as well as qualitative and quantitative research.

Experience developing brand strategy, communications strategy, and integrated campaign frameworks.

Experience creating briefs that translate insights into actionable and inspiring creative direction.

Experience developing messaging frameworks, narratives, or positioning platforms.

Strong deck‑writing, storytelling, and presentation skills with the ability to confidently lead client discussions and drive them toward action.
