Window Treatments Interior Designer
The Blind King, Dallas, TX, United States
In-Home Sales & Design Consultant
Dallas–Fort Worth, TX | Base + Commission | $100K+ OTE
The Opportunity Most window treatment companies hire salespeople. We’re looking for a builder.
The Blind King is a growing custom window treatment company in DFW with a proven brand, premium product lines, 5‑star reputation, and a founder who’s ready to scale. We don’t need someone to fill a seat—we need someone who sees this as their platform to build something meaningful alongside us.
You’ll be the company’s dedicated sales hire. You’ll be building your own book of business across homeowners, builders, property managers, and design centers—with real support, premium products, and a compensation structure that rewards you like a partner, not an employee.
If you’re the kind of person who reads this and thinks, “That sounds like a lot of work,” this isn’t the role for you. If you read it and think, “That sounds like my company to help build,” keep reading.
Mission of This Role Generate revenue, build relationships, and establish yourself as the go-to window treatment consultant in DFW—across residential, builder, and commercial channels—while helping shape the sales operation that scales this company to the next level.
Outcomes: What Success Looks Like in Year One
Close $40K+ per month in sales revenue within 3 months of completing your ramp period, growing toward $60K+/month by month 12.
Build a self‑sustaining pipeline of 15+ active opportunities per month through your own prospecting, networking, referrals, and repeat business.
Develop at least 2 active builder partnerships including model home quotes, design center merchandising, and recurring project work.
Maintain a close rate of 40%+ on qualified in‑home consultations by running a consultative sales process that earns trust, not just transactions.
Achieve a 4.9+ average customer rating by delivering a client experience that generates referrals and repeat business organically.
Own the full sales cycle from lead to close to installation follow‑up, keeping your CRM current and your pipeline accurate at all times.
Become a product expert across all product lines (Norman, Horizons, TWO USA) within 90 days, able to confidently recommend solutions for any room, style, or budget.
Competencies: Who Thrives Here
Drive & Ownership— You don't wait to be told what to do. You see what needs to happen and you make it happen. You treat your territory like your own business.
Consultative Selling— You ask great questions, listen more than you talk, and recommend solutions based on what the customer actually needs—not what’s easiest to sell.
Relationship Intelligence— You build real relationships with homeowners, builders, and partners. People remember you. They refer you. They call you back.
Resilience— You handle rejection, objections, and slow weeks without losing your edge. You know that consistent effort compounds.
Coachability— You take feedback seriously and implement it fast. You’re not defensive—you’re hungry to get better.
Attention to Detail— Measurements matter. Orders matter. Follow‑up matters. You don’t cut corners because you know that precision is what separates professionals from amateurs.
Entrepreneurial Mindset— You see the upside of joining a growing company early. You’re motivated by building something, not just collecting a paycheck.
What You’ll Actually Do
Run in‑home design consultations across DFW—assessing needs, presenting options, measuring windows, and closing on the spot.
Prospect and generate your own leads through networking, referrals, community engagement, builder outreach, and strategic partnerships.
Present tailored proposals using our quoting system, walking clients through product options, pricing, timelines, and the full value of working with The Blind King.
Develop builder and commercial relationships—quoting projects from plans, managing design center partnerships, and expanding our B2B footprint.
Maintain your pipeline in our CRM (LeadBoomerang) with real‑time accuracy—stages, values, notes, and follow‑ups.
Represent The Blind King at every touchpoint with the professionalism and warmth that our 5‑star reputation demands.
Who You Are Required:
2+ years of success in in‑home sales, outside sales, or consultative B2C/B2B selling.
Proven ability to self‑generate leads and build a pipeline from scratch.
Strong communication, presentation, and closing skills.
Comfortable working on commission with a base—your income reflects your results.
Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel throughout DFW.
Tech‑comfortable: CRM, quoting tools, email, and basic measuring tools.
Preferred (not required):
Experience in window treatments, home improvement, interior design, or construction.
Existing relationships with DFW builders, property managers, or design professionals.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus.
What You Get
Compensation that rewards performance: Base salary plus uncapped commission. Realistic year‑one OTE of $100K+ for an A‑player. No ceiling.
A brand that opens doors: The Blind King has a 5‑star Google rating, BBB A+ rating, Best of Houzz awards, and a reputation in DFW that earns trust before you walk in the door.
Premium products you’ll be proud to sell: Norman, Horizons, and TWO USA—custom shutters, shades, blinds, drapery, and exterior solutions. No cheap, off‑the‑shelf products.
A real path to leadership: This is the ground floor. Prove yourself and you’ll help build and lead the sales team as we scale.
Professional installation team: In‑house installers handle installations with care—you sell, they deliver. No DIY installs.
Autonomy with support: You run your territory your way, backed by a founder who’s built the systems, relationships, and reputation to help you win.
