Supervising Producer, Jalen Rose Podcast

Rain Delay Media, Detroit, MI, United States

Rain Delay Media is hiring a Supervising Producer to lead all aspects of a Jalen Rose podcast from a recording studio in downtown Detroit (twice-weekly). This hands‑on role manages all initial episode concepts through final delivery across YouTube, audio, and social channels. You will work on‑site in downtown Detroit collaborating with local and remote production team members to build rundowns, direct multi‑camera shoots, manage the studio and oversee post‑production. The show will be multi‑format — interviews, roundtable panels, solo segments and branded content. If you live at the intersection of sports, music and production — and you know what it means to be from Detroit — this is the job for you!

About Company Rain Delay Media is an award‑winning production company powering sports’ biggest athletes and creators across YouTube, podcasts and social media, including Road Trippin’ with Richard Jefferson, Kickin’ It with Deestroying and Club 30 with Henrik Lundqvist. Same Page Entertainment is a Detroit‑based multi‑media production company founded by Jalen Rose and Tom Gores focused on celebrating the rich culture, creativity, history, and talent found in Detroit and across Michigan.

Responsibilities Creative Development

Generate and pitch episode concepts, guest targets, recurring segments, and topical show beats weekly

Build and refine show rundowns in collaboration with hosts, producers and executive producers before each recording

Help shape show’s creative identity over time — tone, pacing, visual language, and how it evolves month to month

Partner with sales and partnerships teams on branded content integrations and ad reads

Work alongside Same Page social media managers to align show content with broader company campaigns and talent initiatives

Own production calendar across a full season, managing schedules, guest placement, and crew call times

Prepare detailed episode rundowns each week: segment order, talking points, guest research, branded content windows, and technical cues

Coordinate guest booking and rescheduling in partnership with Rain Delay ’s talent booker

Run pre‑production meetings with talent, producers and editors to align on each episode before cameras roll

Confirm studio is fully prepped before every recording — cameras framed, audio levels set, streams tested, set dressed, lighting locked

Live Production

Direct multi‑camera recordings on shoot days: call shots, manage talent on set, and maintain energy and pacing throughout session

Maintain creative and brand consistency across every episode — the show should look, sound, and feel unmistakably like itself whether it’s Episode 1 or Episode 100

Operate production tools (vMix, OBS, Riverside, and/or similar) to simultaneously record and livestream to YouTube, Spotify, and audio platforms

Manage remote guest and co‑host integration when participants join remotely

Handle all recording logistics: equipment setup, technical settings, signal flow, and real‑time troubleshooting when things go sideways during a taping

Ensure all raw files — video, audio, multitrack, and ISO camera feeds — are properly labeled and transferred to the post team immediately after each session

Review rough cuts and provide detailed edit notes for producers and editors

Manage asset requests: graphics, thumbnails, lower thirds, and any visual elements needed for each episode and its derivatives

Oversee the publishing cadence across all distribution channels to ensure episodes and clips land on schedule

Studio Operations

Serve as day‑to‑day manager of the studio

Maintain and troubleshoot all studio systems: cameras, lighting, audio, video switching, streaming infrastructure, and network equipment

Track equipment condition, coordinate repairs, and recommend upgrades to Rain Delay leadership as the show’s technical needs evolve

Qualifications

4+ years producing weekly podcasts, talk shows, or live studio productions for a recognized network, platform, or media brand

Track record of producing and directing high‑profile talent on set — athletes, entertainers, or public figures who require a particular level of professionalism and trust

Hands‑on experience with multi‑camera live production and streaming tools: vMix, Riverside, OBS or comparable systems

Working knowledge of studio equipment at a level where you can set up, operate, and fix problems with PTZ cameras, audio interfaces, lighting rigs, video switchers, and production networking

Strong creative instincts—you can write a rundown, shape a story, craft a YouTube title, and know what makes a clip go from 5K views to 500K

Fluency in YouTube and audio podcast platform strategy: thumbnails, retention curves, Shorts, and how audiences discover and consume content in 2026

Clear, confident communicator who can work across teams — Detroit‑based talent and crew, remote editors and executives, brand partners — and keep everyone aligned without creating bottlenecks

Willingness to work nights and weekends when the production calendar demands it

Genuine passion for sports, culture, and what Detroit represents

Existing relationships in Detroit’s media, music, or sports community

Self‑directed with strong problem‑solving abilities

Reliable transportation to studio location
