Member Relationship Officer
Join our GTE Financial team as a customer‑focused Member Relationship Officer. You will conduct thorough financial assessments, recommend products and services that meet members’ immediate and future goals, generate leads, build new relationships, and maintain existing ones to deliver an outstanding member experience.

Proven success prospecting, building a pipeline, and closing sales opportunities.
Identify, recommend, and sell appropriate GTE Financial products and services to create fully engaged financial relationships.
Originate new members through various sources to ensure continued growth for the credit union.
Work within a teamwork environment to develop a retention strategy for new and existing members.
Generate referrals for credit union services:
Investment
Insurance
Business Services
Mortgages
Experience
Effective negotiation, sales, and relationship‑building skills.
Proven success prospecting, building a pipeline, and moving sales opportunities.
Professional demeanor with co‑workers to build a proactive team environment.
Operational Responsibilities
Sales floor management: greet members, direct them to appropriate areas, and ensure needs are met.
Gather information, analyze facts, and educate members on appropriate products/services for one‑point resolution.
Demonstrate sound judgment in loan applications by reviewing and underwriting in a clear and detailed authorization.
Adhere to audit and compliance procedures while maintaining the highest level of service to members.
Identify potential fraud risks through observation of transactions.
Collaborate with Community Development Officers to strengthen relationships within the community and with community partners.
Conduct member financial transactions: originate, process, and close consumer loan products.
Mortgages: identify the right product for member needs, initiate the process, gather information for processors and underwriters, establish follow‑up with internal partners and members, and provide a good member experience through the process.
Observe Credit Union guidelines, policies, and procedures to adhere to compliance regulations and security standards.
Ensure completion of regulatory compliance and training specific to sales and service responsibilities for staff.
Exhibit a desire for continuous education to support personal growth and better serve members.
Participate in meetings, conference calls, and events as assigned.
Demonstrate functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and other Federal laws (U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control, Anti‑Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act).
Qualify for NMLS registration according to the Safe Act.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution; some college preferred.
1‑2 years of previous experience in the financial industry or related field, or a combination of education and experience.
Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
Position Details
Location: Community Financial Center
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (full‑time with additional hours as needed).
Full‑time hours are required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.
