GENERAL PURPOSE: Under the direction of the Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program director, the student recruitment and industry relations specialist leads student recruitment, marketing, and industry relations for the CIM program. This role drives enrollment growth, strengthens brand visibility, and supports relationships with current and prospective CIM patrons.
This role requires extensive planning, travel, relationship management, communication, data analysis, and the ability to work independently.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Recruitment Strategy, Outreach and Transfer Development (60%)
Generate qualified applications and increase enrollment through targeted, data-informed outreach.
Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy aligned with CIM enrollment goals, including tools, schedules, and engagement initiatives.
Partner with the CIM Director to define measurable enrollment objectives and recruitment priorities.
Identify and prioritize recruitment markets using demographic trends, institutional research data, and campus analytics (e.g., CS360).
Monitor and manage the recruitment budget; provide monthly status reports.
Compile recruitment reports, evaluate outreach effectiveness, and refine strategy based on performance metrics.
Represent the CIM program at schools, colleges, transfer fairs, college nights, industry events, and recruitment activities; travel to assigned markets.
Prepare and deliver presentations highlighting program value, career pathways, and industry demand.
Establish and maintain relationships with counselors, faculty, advisors, alumni, and industry professionals to strengthen pipelines.
Strengthen transfer pathways through consistent engagement and follow-up communication.
Maintain knowledge of university admissions policies to support pre-admissions conversations and appropriate referrals.
Donor Support Administration and Industry Engagement (25%)
Serve as primary administrative liaison to CIM patrons, coordinating communication related to program updates, events, recruitment initiatives, and sponsorship activities, including invoicing and donation tracking.
Maintain and update a database of current patrons, alumni industry contacts, and prospective patron organizations, tracking engagement and participation.
Research and identify potential new patron companies through industry analysis, alumni networks, referrals, and market review.
Assist in planning and execution of patron board meetings, networking events, recruitment events, and fundraising initiatives, including logistics and coordination.
Marketing and Brand Presence Management (5%)
Serve as liaison to the outsourced marketing firm managing CIM’s social media campaigns and recruitment advertising.
Coordinate messaging priorities, enrollment timelines, campaign themes, and program updates.
Provide program content, images, student success stories, and industry highlights.
Develop and publish social media content showcasing program activities, student achievements, industry engagement, and campus involvement.
Maintain a consistent and authentic digital presence across platforms.
Respond to inquiries and engagement on social media.
Collaborate with campus communications and marketing firm to ensure brand standards.
Maintain a library of marketing assets including photos, videos, testimonials, and patron highlights.
Recruit, hire, and train CIM student ambassadors in collaboration with the program director.
Develop role expectations and provide orientation and training.
Manage scheduling, assignments, and workload for recruitment events and outreach initiatives.
Coordinate ambassador participation to expand recruitment reach geographically and demographically.
Monitor performance and evaluate effectiveness of ambassador engagement.
Data Analytics, Reporting and Systems Management (5%)
Use CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce/CS360 or equivalent) and admissions platforms to track prospective student engagement.
Utilize systems such as Cal State Apply, ASSIST.org, PeopleSoft, and CollegeSource to support recruitment tracking and transfer pathways.
Maintain accurate records of outreach, travel, contacts, and engagement.
Develop and monitor recruitment pipeline metrics, including inquiries, conversion rates, yield, and enrollment outcomes.
Analyze demographic and trend data to inform recruiting strategy and market prioritization.
Evaluate marketing campaign performance using engagement and application data.
Generate recruitment and marketing reports identifying trends, gaps, and recommendations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business administration, public administration, or related field.
Minimum of three years of related experience preferred but not required.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS This position requires extensive travel, including frequent driving and flying; a valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or passport is required for domestic air travel. Gas mileage for work-related travel is reimbursed in accordance with organizational policy. Work may alternate between extended periods of sitting at a desk using standard office equipment and frequent movement throughout the office. The incumbent may be required to deliver presentations to large groups, sometimes in noisy environments and often without the use of microphones or other amplification devices. Must be able to travel across campus to attend meetings and events and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment.
