Key Role Responsibilities

Responsible for Corporate Accounting across Europe, including monthly and quarterly financial reporting that includes accurate and timely variance analysis commentary for Europe and the Parent company.

Work with the Financial Controller to ensure monthly reporting packs are fit for purpose.

Monitor and report revenue on a monthly basis and provide monthly updates to the FP&A team on potential risks and opportunities; work with other finance teams to ensure revenue is booked in line with accounting standards.

Handle accounts receivable and work closely with the Shared Services team, overseeing invoicing and cash collection of corporate management fees and cost recharges and the relevant balance‑sheet accounts.

Collaborate with the FP&A team and relevant business and finance owners during the reforecast and Business Plan cycles.

Manage compliance reporting, including timely completion of all EU country VAT submissions and discussing VAT‑related issues with external advisors and the in‑house tax team.

Manage the quarterly tax provisioning process with the US.

Support other finance managers within the team on payroll accounting.

Implement process and procedural improvements to streamline work, increase productivity, and maintain service and quality excellence.

Prepare financial transactions and information for entry into various financial statements and accounting reports by checking calculations, reviewing basis for figures, balancing and reconciling figures, and making exceptions as necessary.

Lead on preparing transitional accounting adjustments for local jurisdictions against US GAAP and manage the secondary ledgers.

Review financial statements for both audited and non‑audited entities.

Check, approve and authorise exceptions to bank reconciliations and transfers for deposit and ensure accuracy.

Assist with development and implementation of accounting control procedures.

Manage external audits across UK and European entities, handle audit deadlines, and act as liaison to internal and external auditors by explaining journal entries and financial transactions. Work closely with the France finance manager to complete the France external audits.

Prepare technical accounting memos on various accounting standards relevant to Greystar.

Ensure customer satisfaction by responding to requests from owners, business leaders, community managers, and others related to financial reports, statements, and established budgets.

Complete various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.

Review monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations packs for each region and ensure they are fit for purpose.

Work with the Financial Controller to enhance and document Corporate Finance policies and procedures and put controls in place.

Organisational Responsibilities

Follow established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organisational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility and reporting violations or infractions to the appropriate individual(s).

Demonstrate appropriate safe behaviours in accordance with company, property, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.

Identify areas for improvement, offer suggestions to improve efficiency and productivity, and implement ideas that achieve operational excellence.

Keep abreast of current changes in technology, processes, and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training classes.

Qualifications

Good level of general education with strong written and numerical skills.

Proficiency in Excel.

Good understanding of VAT and company structures.

Good understanding of UK and EU payroll accounting.

ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualified accountant.

Experience leading year‑end audit processes.

Strong technical accounting experience.

Working knowledge of GAAPs within the Real Estate sector.

Experience working in a similar role within a fast‑paced multi‑jurisdictional business ideally within the Real Estate sector.

Demonstrated ability to prepare and explain financial data to business leaders and managers, team members, clients, internal and external auditors, and other business contacts.

Strong presentation of financial information – written and verbal.

Demonstrated management and supervisory skills sufficient to lead, direct, evaluate, and mentor junior team members and/or peers.

Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manipulate and sort large volumes of data in Excel.

Good communicator, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

Positive “can‑do” attitude with desire to learn, train and develop in the role.

Good attention to detail, taking pride in work.

Self‑starter with a methodical and organised approach.

Ability to work to deadlines and multitask, using initiative to prioritise.

Desirable Experience

Experience working with an offshore shared services team.
